I make wheel-thrown porcelain pots that are decorated and glazed. My work takes
references from my love of a Japanese aesthetic. Teapots and moon jars speak to
me as symbols of community and ritual. I work predominantly in porcelain on the
wheel. Some surfaces are punctuated rhythmically inside and out, expressing the
fine translucency of the material, others are treated with bold, calligraphic
brush strokes and stripes which contrast with the conformity of form.
