This marks an exciting stage for the trust as we seek to work in partnership to deliver high quality education experiences to all our children. We are aspirational for every child to achieve their potential and be equipped with ‘wisdom for life’, as we work in partnership with local churches and local communities. We care deeply for our children and their well-being during these difficult times. The trust believes in the importance of collaborative partnership working. Although we are a small trust, we are working with a wide range of partners and service providers so that we have both the expertise and capacity to be a strong and effective trust. As of November 2022 Positive Impact has a community of over 1,600 global event professionals, over 40 corporate Head of Events, over 40 Corporate Head of Sustainability, over 160 SMEs with a Race to Zero commitment, over 5 memorandums of understanding with United Nations bodies. We are the only event sector body to be a Race to Zero Accelerator, UN SDG Action mobiliser and to have education certified by the world’s largest and leading CPD accreditation working across all sectors, so our education is accessed by heads of marketing, HR and sustainability. For over 15 years not for profit Positive Impact Events have been providing engagement, collaboration and education to create a sustainable event industry. You could describe Positive Impact Events as the ‘critical friend’ of the global event sector. Our funding comes from everywhere and nowhere and every penny, cent, yen etc is used to advance the event sector so every time an event happens the UN Sustainable Development Goals are advanced and events are recognised as ensuring 'participation and inclusion in decision making’ (UN SDG16). She has a varied background as a singer-songwriter, geologist and engineering educator. She has developed virtual worlds for education, and is passionate about using immersive technologies for learning and accessibility. Colin Hetherington – Co Founder Colin developed our multi-user virtual oil rig in 2010/11, and developed a number of processes relating to OpenSim software. The rig model has been used to test immersive tech software due to its complexity. Colin has a background in art, photography and elearning technology. Colin died in 2021 but he still remains an integral part of neoSome.

In 2018, Dame Tessa Jowell led a call to action on behalf of all brain tumour patients to tackle brain tumours, recognising that too little progress has been made in the treatment of patients with this devastating disease. Lord O’Shaughnessy, the then Undersecretary of State for Health, responded by convening members of the brain tumour community to design a new national strategy. And so, the Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission was formed by a group of passionate academics, doctors, members of professional and patient organisations and patients. Today, the national effort has grown in scale and size. The Tessa Jowell Brain Cancer Mission is now a Community Interest Company which manages and supports a national portfolio of several transformational programmes in the areas of research, trials, training and patients. Our work is funded and supported by the NIHR, The Tessa Jowell Foundation, CRUK, The Minderoo Foundation, The Brain Tumour Charity, Brain Tumour Research, Brainstrust, Brain Tumour Support and Act for Cancer. I’ve worked for more than 30 years delivering and managing services in the public sector to support disabled people. In 1997 I moved into higher education becoming the manager of the disability service at the University of the West of England in Bristol. After UWE, I was the manager of an educational development project in Manchester before two roles in national coordination teams. As part of the National Disability Team I oversaw £2.1m of HEFCE funding across 23 projects in a range of HEIs in England. The projects were funded to set up disability provision from scratch within small specialist institutions and to develop a range of inclusive teaching, learning and assessment resources for the sector. I was then senior policy adviser at Action on Access, the national coordination team for widening participation. I’ve worked in a consultancy capacity and been a member of policy groups for a range of projects and organisations including, the Institute of Physics, the Higher Education Academy, the General Teaching Council for England, the Quality Assurance Agency, and a number of universities including York, Durham, Huddersfield, Middlesex and Cardiff Metropolitan. I was a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Disability Practitioners for a number of years and I’m now the CEO of the International Network of Inclusive Practice. I recently worked as a visiting lecturer at the Education University, Hong Kong and currently work as a lecturer at London South Bank University.
