I am fortunate enough to be the Principal of Homefield College and am delighted that you have found your way to our website to explore the many opportunities that the College provides to support people with learning difficulties and / or disabilities to lead fulfilling lives. Homefield College was founded in 1987 as a long-term residential provision for people with learning and communication difficulties. We have since expanded our offering with specialist further education and training, supporting both part-time and full-time day and residential students. The College now offers a range of individualised vocational education programmes based within local communities. All programmes are tailored to the needs of each individual with the starting point being that they feel safe in the environment that they are in. Once this is achieved it allows our staff to work with them to develop and improve their skills to enable them to live more independently once they leave the College. You will see on the website details of the activities that we provide which put together make up a study programme. Our education provision is based upon our belief that young people achieve through experience and this is reflected in the activities provided in our programmes. Students will undertake work experience and we hope that for some of them this will lead to a supported internship. Beyond the education provision, we also offer residential experiences for those who would like to further develop their independent living skills and this can often provide a period of respite for the student’s family. Homefield also provides a range of services for those who remain as part of our lifelong learning provision. These include: long-term residential care, supported work experiences, day services and community enterprises. Chef Monisha Bharadwaj is an award winning author, food historian and a food writer based in London, UK. Monisha is a qualified chef from the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai. She started Cooking With Monisha, situated in West London, in 2004. Today it is a successful school that attracts not only the home cook but also chefs who wish to learn Chef Monisha’s brand of simple authentic Indian cooking. Monisha has also created and taught her popular courses at the Ashburton Cookery School in Devon, The Bertinet Kitchen in Bath, Seasoned Cookery School, south Derbyshire and at Divertimenti in Knightsbridge. She is often invited to judge food events and has been a judge at the Guild of Fine Food’s ‘Great Taste Awards’ for the past several years. Monisha also holds a BA in Indian History and in 2013, she was invited to be Guest Lecturer at SOAS, University of London, to give a series of talks on ‘The History of India through its Food’. In 2017, she worked with Kew Gardens giving talks on healing Indian ingredients, and with the British Council on ‘How The British Fell in Love With Curry – a historical perspective from 1200-2017’. In 2018, Monisha was invited by the Wellcome Collection, London, to talk about Ayurvedic nutrition as part of their exhibition, ‘Ayurveda Man’ and opened the South Asian Spice Box residency at Borough Market, London, with a cookery demonstration of south Indian food. In 2019, she was invited to be a Guest Speaker on Indian food on a Cookery Legends cruise around the British Isles. She was awarded ‘Cookery Writer of the Year’ in 2003 by the Guild of Food Writers and her many books have been shortlisted for and won several prestigious international awards. In 2020, her book ‘Indian in 7- recipes using 7 ingredients or fewer’ won the Gourmand World Cookbook Award 2020 for the Best Indian Cookbook in the World. Growing up in India, Monisha was brought up on an Ayurvedic inspired diet, where food brought happiness and physical well being. Today, she brings her experience of and passion for ancient Ayurvedic wisdom to all the classes she teaches.

He contributes a regular London restaurant column called Root & Bone, and is currently working his way through a Wine & Spirit education at WSET. Alex Harris: Bar Logistics & Cocktails (Behind This Wall) Behind This Wall are The Wedding Arrangers’ partner for event bars. Birthed from a passion for classic cocktails and natural ingredients, Behind This Wall provide bespoke solutions tailored to any event. Originally a ‘pop-up’ out of F. Cooke’s Pie & Mash shop in the heart of London’s east end, Behind This Wall has grown into award-winning premises in Mare Street. They now proudly offer a fully adaptable service to cater for made-to-measure celebrations. Alex has a diploma in cocktail making, has designed menus for Soho House, and crafted drinks at the Rocket Group in Mayfair, all before establishing his own company in 2008. Alex believes in the simple elegance of classic recipes and methods, tweaking them slightly to your tastes. Sophie Conran is the only daughter of designer and restaurateur Sir Terence Conran and food writer Caroline Conran. Sister to fashion designer Jasper, restaurateurs Tom and Ned and product designer Sebastian, Sophie has two wonderful grown-up children. Sophie left school early and worked through a variety of different jobs including apprenticing for Stephen Jones the couture milliner, working in Jasper's fashion empire, running a supper club which evolved into a catering company, working in a small business making boxer shorts and another hand-making lollipops. She delved into the world of interior design with various show homes, private homes and retail projects. She has worked as a buyer for both The Conran Shop and The Design Museum shop and also set up her own 'corner shop of the world' Wong Singh Jones in Notting Hill. Sophie moved to Melbourne, Australia for a couple of years where she worked for clothing and homeware brand Country Road and was a contributing writer for The Age newspaper and Belle magazine, as well as having her son Felix. On her return to the UK, Sophie had her daughter Coco. While raising her young children, she collaborated with her father on several of his restaurant interiors and worked again with Jasper on colour predictions and his range with Debenhams. Sophie launched Sophie Conran Pies - a gourmet collection of top quality, handmade pies, which won 4 medals at the Great Taste Awards. She supplied racecourses with her brand Great British Pies, which led to her debut cookbook Pies, published in November 2006. This was followed by Easy Pies for Marks and Spencer and later Soups and Stews, published in 2008. Sophie has been a contributing editor for the magazines Junior, House Beautiful, In Style and Country Living. Sophie regularly writes and develops recipes for her blog, newsletters, catalogues and publications. March 2006 saw the launch of Sophie’s hugely successful range with Portmeirion. The range has won many prestigious awards and is sold worldwide, with the range continuing to expand. Sophie now works with many amazing companies creating stunning, well-known ranges. She partnered with Arthouse in 2008 to develop a range of wallpapers for B&Q and luxury design pattern books, and in 2010 she began her relationship with Burgon & Ball - creating an ever-growing range of garden tools and accessories. In the same year, Sophie joined forces with the British Cutlers to the Queen, Arthur Price, and has 2 extremely successful cutlery ranges with them.
