From 1st October 2013 HSE no longer approves training and qualifications for the purpose of first aid at work. Training organisations who were formerly ‘Approved’ by HSE to deliver First Aid at Work Training can no longer claim to be HSE Approved or use their HSE Approval number. The flexibility arising from the changes in the Regulations gives employers more choice in the first aid training they provide for their employees and whom they choose to provide it. An employer will need to undertake due diligence (reasonable enquiry or investigation) into how they select a first aid training provider. What are my options? The HSE have stated that you have three options. 1) HSE Approved Trainer on their provider list. 2) A training provider working under an accredited framework - such as Ofqual 3) A independent supplier with no accreditation. - If you choose this third option then you need to investigate or apply due diligence towards that company to insure they are legitimate. The Greek Community School at St. Cyprian’s, an amalgamation of Tooting, Croydon and Streatham district community schools, was established in the year 2000. This coincided with the opening of our community’s first Greek Orthodox state primary school St. Cyprian’s in whose premises we operate every Saturday. We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum for all our students. Working with the curriculum designed for community schools by the Ministry of Education of Cyprus, our own curriculum and offer includes cultural, religious, geographical and historical topics relating to Greece, Cyprus and the Diaspora.
The Kana Dental Academy has one simple aim. We want to connect the greatest speakers in the world with the most eager and progressive minds in the country. The idea of the KDA was conceived when we realised that there was an incredible void in teaching courses within the middle of the UK. So much is focussed in/around London or up north. This is wonderful for delegates based in these areas, but very much a hindrance for anyone who would be required to commute those large distances. Our eventual mission will be to ensure no UK-based delegate, wanting a postgraduate dental degree, will have to travel more than an hour to obtain it. This will allow progression for those with young families, for example, and open up endless career possibilities without sacrificing on a work/life balance. The belief is that all of this is achievable without sacrificing on the content being taught.
