Thanks for taking the trouble to find out about my music school! Let me tell you about it… We take students at any level, whatever your goals are – be it just wanting to play around the campfire, jamming at your local pub, playing local gigs or touring the world! We’ve made it happen for all these aspirations! I had the idea of founding a music school when giving lessons to drum students – I love imparting knowledge and skills and seeing them progress – it’s my passion. I previously taught privately and at other establishments and enjoyed encouraging students to discover the joy of playing and developing enthusiasm for music as a whole. The music teachers at G.O.T. have been carefully selected with these values in mind and all have a similar attitude to mine when it comes to music. Our school’s motto is: “We love music; we love teaching.” and all our music teachers are very passionate about music as of course am I. Our music tutors are drawn from a mixture of professionals, with varied experience in both the teaching and performance fields. Your teacher will be able to relate to students with any level of experience and see just what is required in each individual situation, from the classroom, to the stage, to the recording studio. Why join Vedika? The academy provides an opportunity to learn Indian traditional arts such as Bharatanatyam, Yoga, Folk Dances, Carnatic & non-classical Vocal lessons; all in one place. Scheduled stage performances will be organised twice a year (winter show & summer show) so as to encourage & appreciate the student’s talent & effort. Our students have performed in external shows such as Vivekananda Festival at Central London, Indian Independence day Celebration 2018 organised by Indian High Commission and other various community events. You can watch the performances here. Lesson format emphasise on providing students with a good understanding of classical arts whilst making learning fun. Lessons will include special sessions to celebrate a myriad of fascinating Indian festivals through chanting of Vedic verses, story telling & folk dances. Children will be trained by experienced teachers in the respective fields of classical dance and carnatic vocal music. Teaching assistant will be present during the entire duration of lesson.
