For over 120 years, MRS Training & Rescue (formerly known as Mines Rescue Service), has developed specialist skills, experience and knowledge gained from working in difficult and potentially dangerous environments, to effect the rescue and escape of mine workers from underground. However, given the gradual decline of the coal mines over many years, culminating in the closure of the last deep coal mine in December 2015, we have been able to expand and diversify to meet the needs of today’s health and safety market. We have been able to secure long term success by leveraging our expertise, and have branched out from underground mining into providing unique rescue services, specialist equipment (some of which has been designed using practical expertise gathered on the job), consultancy and a comprehensive range of accredited health and safety related products, training and services to a wide range of industries, including nuclear, aerospace, manufacturing and utilities. Training and assessing customers' employees to safely enter, work and exit from confined spaces, is offered at all of our eight training centres, and can also be delivered at customers’ premises by using our mobile rigs. We have been involved with industry in developing the National Occupational Standards, and all the confined space suite of qualifications awarded by City & Guilds are available at our accredited training centres. We have also developed bespoke courses for specific industries such as the water industry.

horecliffe Training Ltd was founded in 1992 at the original premises in Factory Road, Sandycroft, Deeside The original purpose of the company was to provide training for operatives and supervisors to meet the requirements of the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991 (NRSWA). The company relocated to new premises in Denbigh, North Wales in Nov 1998 and also came under new ownership and with increased staff and resources. Shorecliffe Training Ltd Offer the New Road & Streetworks for Operatives and Supervisors (NRSWA) and also in 2011 became a REASSESSMENT CENTRE FOR NRSWA. We also run Street Works units as stand alone refresher training i.e CAT and Genny or the Signing, Lighting and Guarding elements too. We are a NOCN Job cards Accredited Plant Test Centre plus NPORS centre and also In-House Shorecliffe certified certificates for Plant and Machinery.
