One Dot Four will always strive to create by focusing on the essentials. Whether
solving problems, uncovering a strategy, re-purposing an old technology,
exploiting new materials or creating a new product, it will always be done with
empathetic efficiency, with care, and with something extra, this is because we
think differently. Extracting a simple solution to a complex problem rarely
comes from a light-bulb moment, or a pre ordained menu of rules or questions.
The start for a great solution may be a five minute conversation but great
result require thought, expertise and hard work. There is no short cut to a well
resolved outcome. Our mission will always be to eliminate the unnecessary within
a design by removing those elements which are redundant. In our pursuit of less,
we will always contribute more thought, more experimentation and investigation ,
more work and reflection to find the essence in each new piece of work. That’s
just what we do, and what we like to do. Process Process can’t always be a set
structure and each scenario demands a tailored approach. There are a number of
place markers that govern our way of doing things. Over 40 years of experiences
has developed a process which is as part structure, part instinct and
experience. For example our work might starts with a research based initial
response, followed by development to agreed criteria and then production of an
output and its story.
