I have been practising yoga for 10 years and come from a family of 3 generations of yoga practitioners and teachers. As with many, I started yoga to get fit, but what I gained was so much richer than that. At the time I began attending regular classes I was struggling with mental health and addiction issues which I could see no escape from. Yoga gave me a framework to take care of my body, surrender my fears to, focus my future on and consequently make huge transformations. The experience of my transformation was not just due to the physical postures or Asanas, but instead a combination of practises that were offered to me by my teacher who was Integral Yoga trained.

The workshop was set up by Gavin Pond and Pam Brown in October 2009. We believe that there is a morality in craftwork that can inspire confidence and self-belief. Practical intelligence is often neither acknowledged nor respected, which results in many talented people's strengths not being recognised or nurtured, and as a consequence they loose self-confidence. This leads to a lack of care and respect for our surroundings and blinds us to the true worth of things. By striving to create something to the best of our ability and to see it through to the end, we learn to respect ourselves and our surroundings. By working in this way we hope to open new doors and widen horizons.

Sofab Sports CIC is a social enterprise that was founded in 2014 by Dale Rawlins, at the age of 16. An integral goal of ours is to provide training and employment opportunities for individuals overcoming various hardships in their lives. At Sofab Sports, more than 60% of our workforce have a physical or mental disability, have previously been homeless or are reforming and reintegrating back into mainstream society. We are proud to have employed and enabled over 60 staff members transition into secure full time employment, find appropriate living accommodation and move from a care home setting to independent living. All of our products are 100% genuine, sourced through the UK’s largest specialist wholesalers. Our products cover a wide variety of sports ranging from Premier League football and F1, to NBA merchandise and golf attire. You will also find your favourite brands such as Nike, adidas, Under Armour and Gymshark on our online store. Our story began in a retail store in Gloucester’s town centre where we sold discounted, end of line top branded sportswear. As consumer buying habits changed, especially when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, we decided to shut our store and move online to best meet the needs of our customers. This is how we continue to trade today.

My name is Sarah Colombini and I am very privileged to be the Headteacher at Ribston Hall High School. At Ribston, we know that every child is different. Our ethos is to enable and empower young women to discover their own unique potential. We believe that each child's individuality should be encouraged and developed. This is achieved by offering an all-round holistic education where we value all of the subjects we teach, and have worked hard to ensure students receive a broad learning experience in many different subjects that are not always on offer at other schools. As a Biologist, I recognise the value of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths), particularly in the education of women as these areas are under-represented in undergraduate study and pursuance of careers in these fields. This is something I would like to change by encouraging those that are interested to consider STEM at this school and view its study as an opportunity and a gateway to a multitude of careers. Having recently heard the news that we have been successful in securing £1.5 million to build our new science block, we are excited that this will support our aim as well as providing our primary partnership schools an opportunity to experience and engage in science learning with us too. Our key strength is the underpinning care and support we provide our students – this is because we know that you cannot succeed if you are not happy. Equipping young people with the tools to cope and succeed is what we do well; we nurture our students to be physically and mentally fit to thrive in the 21st century. Student wellbeing really is at the heart of what we do at Ribston.

The inspiring courage of the Dominican Sisters of St Rose Convent in Stroud, led them to found St Rose’s in 1912. Their foundations established the ethos for St Rose’s and St Martin’s today: the happy, family-atmosphere where children and students are challenged to develop and achieve their potential. Set in beautiful grounds within walking distance to the centre of Stroud we offer a nurturing and social environment for students to develop their independence. We provide education, therapy and day and residential care for children and students aged 2 to 25, with a wide range of disabilities, including Autism. In our nursery we have mainstream children, as well as children with disabilities. Many of our students have physical disabilities, as well as sensory, learning and communication difficulties; some also have complex health needs. Parents and carers trust us implicitly. Our very individual and flexible approach means we can easily adapt the programme for each student. As their needs and aspirations change and they develop, we offer new opportunities to support their personal growth and independence. Our integrated team of dedicated and specialist staff makes this possible. As well as specialist teaching staff, we have our own therapeutic staff on site, offering a range of therapies, including physio, speech and language, occupational, aquatic, massage and music. We have our own hydrotherapy pool. We also offer specialist medical support, 24 hours a day. Our staff are truly exceptional, and the trust we build with families is very strong. We also provide individual programmes through strong links with mainstream schools and FE colleges, so students can specialise and flourish where their aspirations lie. Fun and achievement exist side-by-side and we celebrate success in many ways. Students enjoy many social occasions and events held at St Rose’s and St Martin’s and at outside venues.
