The British Ceramics Biennial (BCB) develops, sustains and expands innovative ceramics practice and improves lives together with artists and creative communities. We do this by delivering an engaging year-round programme of artists’ commissions, education and community projects. All of which feed into a festival of contemporary ceramics that takes place in Stoke-on-Trent. Initiated in 2009, the BCB festival has grown to be the single largest contemporary ceramics event in the UK. We present artworks from the UK’s leading ceramicists alongside work by international artists, in exhibitions and special events held across the city.

Maker's bio My love of woodcraft was due to a meeting with a guitarist friend who had made an acoustic guitar. We talked about his guitar for many hours and I thought it would be a challenge for me to have a go! Well that was 6 years ago and now in 2021 I am in a small workshop in Stoke where I build various instruments. The Strumstick instrument build is a great way to get to grips with fine woodworking and is an ideal step towards acoustic guitar building. No experience in woodwork is needed.

I suppose you can say that I am a constant learner, starting my career as a Make-Up Artist/Beauty Therapist, completing a degree and post graduate diploma in The Chartered Institute of Marketing and settling into the corporate world of marketing and advertising. Then after having a family, training as a yoga teacher, holistic therapy tutor and it didn't stop there! I just love to learn and share this with others.
