May I, on behalf of the Governing Body, extend a warm welcome to you. The Governing Body at Manor exists to offer support to the Headteacher in the strategic decisions made at the academy, as well as hold the academy to account to ensure that we offer the best educational experience for all of our students. We are a Governing Body of thirteen members who all bring a wealth of skills and experience together to help shape Manor for the future. Our work involves all stakeholders to ensure everyone has a voice in the development of the academy. We meet formally throughout the academic year as a whole Governing Body and perform a number of monitoring visits to ensure our strategic plans have the desired impact on the improvement of our academy. We are all very proud of Manor Academy, both in the academic success our students achieve, and in our work with the local community. We are a wholly inclusive academy and will do everything we can to support students in developing their academic and vocational skills. Chris Richards – Vice Chair I became a parent governor in 2002 and my four sons attended the School. I continued on the Governing body as a co-opted governor when all my sons had left the school. I am retired now but enjoyed a career as a qualified mechanical engineer in both the mining industry and power generation, where I have developed a good understanding of the requirements of health and safety legislation. I have an interest in the sciences and my linked role is as health and safety governor. I am keen to ensure that Manor Academy provides the best educational opportunities for our students as they progress through their formative years. Colin Sawers I was co-opted onto the Governing Body of The Manor Academy in November 2020. I work in the Complaints and Information Team at Nottinghamshire County Council leading a business support team. Since graduating from Loughborough University with a degree in Information and Library Studies I have worked in a variety of library and information services. I am a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Library & Information Professionals. My career has included experience in both public and further education libraries. Since 2012 I have also served on the Governing Body of Peafield Lane Academy in Mansfield Woodhouse.

We are an Amateur Boxing Club (ABC) affiliated to the National Governing Governing Body England Boxing within the East Midlands Region. Formerly Mansfield All Stars ABC, founded in February 2019 and situated within Mansfield, Nottinghamshire Town centre. In 2020/21, the Covid-19 Pandemic caused for changes in how our club was run and therefore needed to expand in order to survive the difficult circumstances so that the much needed area Amateur Boxing Club was still there once the pandemic had passed. We are now located in a close neighbouring Town, Kirkby In Ashfield. We are a Not for Profit Community Sports club and abide by a Constitution and run by a Club Committee full of volunteers who are democratically elected operating under the regulation of a National Governing Body. We hold regular Committee meetings throughout each competitive boxing season in order to gain feedback, make changes and better progress the club. As a club we are non discriminate and promote fairness and well being to all and we cater for all abilities and ages from the ages of 5. All our Coaches are qualified coaches and hold relevant safeguarding, first aid and are DBS checked for compatibility. The welfare of our boxers and team are at the forefront of our priorities.

Lisa McVeigh The Academy was established in 2008 by joint sponsors Sir David Samworth and the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. Their vision was to create an inclusive place where people and students come first and where students can be educated holistically as well as academically and leave prepared for a long and happy adult life – 70 plus great years. Our emphasis and exploration of our Christian values, as well as our membership of the international Round Square organisation, encourages students to ‘Be The Best They Can Be’ and to explore their own (perhaps hidden) talents and potential in a wide range of ways. Our beautiful and lovingly cared for campus houses a range of sometimes unexpected facilities including a climbing wall, high ropes course, Dance Studio and Drama Pod, a Combined Cadet Force, a fully functioning hairdressing salon and well populated animal care unit. We are also committed to delivering the best academic education we can for our young people and to training and supporting our teachers to be the best and most innovative teachers they can be. Our teaching facilities are modern and well-equipped and we are always looking for ways to improve them further. We are very proud of what has been achieved by our fantastic young people in the past and excited at the limitless potential of current and future students.
