To prove to myself and others that I could shine in the exciting world of airline travel, I joined Thomas Cook Airlines in 2006. Training came to me as a sideways step in 2009, within my quest to increase my knowledge of the workings of the airline. Building on my initial experience, training became the main part of my role, as I enjoyed both the interaction with the trainees and the opportunity to pass on skills and knowledge. During my 11 years as a trainer with Thomas Cook, I logged over 3500 hours in the classroom, with over 1500 students, including both cabin crew and pilots. That does not include the hundreds of hours of training that took place during flights, to and from destinations all over the world. I subsequently went on to spend 4 years as a guest speaker, as part of Sheffield College's aviation department, all whilst still flying with Thomas Cook Airlines.

I AM YOGI is the story of wanting to build a yoga community. The company was co-founded by myself and Vittoria Manca. After practising yoga together for many years at various studios, we wanted to give it a go ourselves! In 2016, I decided to leave my career as a secondary school teacher and complete my yoga training in Goa, India. On returning, teaching in the local gym just wasn’t enough and the vision started to brew. The origins of I AM YOGI started in a space called ‘The Glasshouse’, which was essentially a conservatory on a pub car-park in Moseley. The weekly schedule started there. Wind the clock forward 18 months and the purpose-built wooden cabin that now stands in Moseley Park, was The Glasshouse re-envisioned. The cabin was constructed by a local carpenter and friend, Jim Jones along with many helping hands from parents, close friends, extended family and local stakeholders. Today, I have a dedicated team who work hard behind the scenes, from our CABIN CREW to our outstandingly dedicated TEACHING TEAM. The community that I AM YOGI serves and continues to create is special - and now even extends out into the virtual world since the pandemic! You can practice YOGA AT HOME with us from anywhere, anytime! The work we continue to do is for every yogi that continues to show up and practice with us.

Having seen the benefits of first aid training, in giving individuals the knowledge and confidence to help in an emergency, I think it's important that as many of us as possible gain these skills. My career as a nurse in both hospitals and schools has given me both the knowledge and practical experience to deliver first aid training in a way that is effective, practical and fun. Career I have worked in busy hospital environments across many areas, including Accident and Emergency, Intensive Care, High Dependency and on a variety of wards. It's certainly been an interesting and challenging career, working alongside many dedicated and skilled colleagues. I started teaching first aid in a school setting, delivering courses to various staff members, from maintenance teams to headteachers. It was through this that I realised how important it was to make training practical and fun in order to engage trainees and build their confidence. Having a degree in psychology is highly useful when it comes to delivering our Mental Health First Aid courses. I am passionate about using my skills and knowledge to make first aid accessible to everyone, so that as individuals we can ‘make a difference’ when it matters most. Career I am a highly experienced Customer Services Professional, specialising in First Aid training and staff development. Throughout my long career, in both nursing and as a Senior Cabin Crew Member for a major airline, I have been involved in training and coaching; helping my colleagues to reach their full potential within the workplace. I have also worked in many other environments delivering Nursing care & First Aid. I've recently completed my own Level 3, Ofqual regulated Community First Responder Course with the West Midlands Ambulance Service, and am now an active volunteer within my local community, delivering first line treatment for 999 'life threatening' calls, prior to the 'calvary' (paramedics) arriving. Its an amazing feeling to be giving something back to the community, and helping my neighbours where I live and in the surrounding villages.

With the full glass cockpit, 4k surround resolution viewing, flight management system and automatic flight director system , overhead systems and audio pedestal systems you can practice all areas of preparation training and real life flying. As the simulator has control loading / flight feel, you will be able to practice any scenario and feel the condition of the aircraft at all times. You may fancy doing a `SULLY` bird strike emergency landing or a recovery from a stall. Indeed, stepping up to the flight deck and into the left hand captain’s seat, if you ever thought pilot’s had a easy life with their feet up whilst the autopilot did all the hard work, think again. As the precious cargo of passengers are boarding, the captain and first officer are busy doing route briefings, entering the data into the Flight Management Computer and executing a pre-flight checklist. On the longer experiences (2hours and above) you will follow those airline Standard Operating Procedures (yes, you guessed it - SOPs!). That means you get to do all those critical checks and controls before you ‘take off’ and again when you have completed your landing checks and given the cabin crew the ‘doors to arrival and crosscheck’ command. You get a complete insight into what a typical ‘day at the office for a Boeing driver’
