Edinburgh Science Foundation is an educational charity, founded in 1989, which operates Edinburgh Science's Education and Festival programmes. We are best known for organising Edinburgh’s annual Science Festival – the world’s first public celebration of science and technology as a festival and still one of Europe’s largest – as well as our science education outreach programmes, Generation Science and Careers Hive and our community engagement work. Our mission is to inspire, encourage and challenge people of all ages and backgrounds to explore and understand the world around them. As leaders in our field of Science Communication, we work year-round to create and deliver dynamic hands-on workshops and exhibitions and inspirational shows, discussions, debates and performances that continually push the boundaries of public engagement with science. Communication and engagement is at the core of all our work and we strive to ensure that this is embedded in all aspects of our organisation. Festival Our 2022 Festival spanned 9–24 April and explored the theme of Revolutions – lifeforms, lifecycles, revolutionary ideas and solutions to global challenges. This year's Festival saw the return to our family hub at City Art Centre and two major new interactive exhibitions, DataSphere and Consumed, alongside a vibrant and varied programme of other events for audiences of all ages in collaboration with our network of amazing partners. Learning Our touring education programme Generation Science has been providing unique science experiences to schools across Scotland for 30 years. In light of COVID-19 restrictions, this year's programme was made up of pre-recorded workshops, loan kits and make-along boxes which were designed to get pupils out of their seats and involved. Secondary schools careers event Careers Hive was hosted this year on Gather, an interactive online digital platform. Over 2,400 students from over 30 Scottish schools took part in the event, which highlighted the opportunities available to those who study STEM subjects. Worldwide Edinburgh Science also operates a large-scale international programme of work under our Worldwide arm. It regularly presents events overseas and is currently the Major Programming Partner of the annual Abu Dhabi Science Festival, helping to curate, produce and deliver the event. For international partners, the team at Edinburgh Science provide engaging content, curatorial advice on programming and business planning support, along with expert staff and training for local science communicators. Surrey Law Society

surrey law society

Kingston-upon-Thames,

Need advice or information on a legal problem? Whether the problem is personal or business, one of our member firms should be able to assist. Today the Surrey Law Society is the sixth largest in England and Wales with a membership of around 1000 solicitors and is seen as the Surrey Lawyers’ voice. Surrey Law Society was formally incorporated in November 2001. It was a coming together of the three existing Surrey law societies in order to improve economy of administration and provide a far more effective voice for Surrey lawyers when talking both to the Law Society and other professional bodies. Previously the Mid Surrey Law Society had served members in the north of Surrey and London boroughs of Richmond, Kingston, Sutton and parts of Merton, the name deriving from the days when Surrey was everything south of the Thames in Central London. The South East Surrey Law Society was based around Dorking and its environs and similarly the West Surrey Law Society comprised of members in or around Guildford. The amalgamation enabled us to reach parts of the County that the old societies did not reach and increased membership dramatically to its present level. It is now in the top ten local law societies throughout the country, when considering that these include the City of London, Manchester and Birmingham, the Surrey lawyers’ voice is now far more effectively heard in high places. The ‘map’ of the committee as at 27th Nov 2013 identifies the group that currently manages the Society. Originally the presidency rotated around the old three centres of activity but over the years the integration is such that we are now one big happy family, providing not only an effective CPD programme but representatives on just about every legal forum that can be found in the County and several others. One of the main aims of the Society is to get to know fellow lawyers through networking and social events as diverse as beer and skittles evenings, walking weekends, dinners and quizzes. Liaison regularly takes place not only with adjoining societies but also on a national level. Strong and permanent links have also been forged with the University of Law in Guildford itself and Kingston and Surrey Universities where we are happy to sponsor events to assist the students in various ways. We look forward to playing a full role in the legal world and promote the role of Surrey solicitors for a very long time to come.

The annual conference and district meetings provide an opportunity for a healthy exchange of ideas and viewpoints, as well as unified adoption of resolutions protecting the profession's examining regulatory standards and ultimately the consumer public. OUR SERVICES Query public records of board actions through CIN-BAD. Search for continuing education credits with PACE. Get information about our annual and district meetings. Research criteria for obtaining and maintaining a chiropractic license with our Official Directory. WHO WE ARE The first meeting of the chiropractic licensing boards was held in 1919. The Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards became an organization officially in 1926, with different names over the years. Our purposes are detailed in the Certificate of Incorporation. In summary, these deal with maintaining high, uniform standards in areas related to chiropractic licensure, regulation, discipline, and education. The corporation is non-profit, deriving its income from member dues, directory sales, financial donations and conference fees. Dues are based on the number of active chiropractic licenses. The FCLB serves as a clearinghouse and forum for the discussion of important political issues. The annual conference and district meetings provide an opportunity for a healthy exchange of ideas and viewpoints, as well as unified adoption of resolutions protecting the profession's examining regulatory standards and ultimately the consumer public. The CIN-BAD system offers several informational databases to member boards and other subscribers. CIN-BAD's ever-expanding databases are increasingly significant to regulatory boards, chiropractic colleges, managed care providers, law enforcement, and the public. Eligible members of the FCLB include boards having jurisdiction to license or regulate the practice of chiropractic in the states, provinces, commonwealths or territories of the United States of America, Canada, Australia, Mexico, and other countries. Current board members, as well as those who have served on a board within the last five years, may participate as Fellows in FCLB activities, including holding office or serving on standing committees. Those who have ever served on a chiropractic regulatory board are Honorary Fellows, privileged to attend the annual business meeting. Other organizations with an interest in chiropractic licensure are also active with the Federation. WHAT WE DO
