Talks and tours, art and craft workshops, work with schools and artist residencies are all part of the gallery’s regular activities programme.

The LYF is an enterprising, small charity – but one that achieves big results.Despite the dreadful challenges for so many of us throughout 2020-21, this period has marked a very challenging – but a positive time for the LYF. We’ve been working hard to get our ‘Open Sourcing’ Farmer Radio initiative out there! Basically, this means that some of the poorest farming communities in the world will be able to set up their own ‘Farmers’ Voice Radio Stations’ – using the free resources and help that we’ll be able to provide! As a small charity, we don’t believe in feathering our own nest. And we do believe that all our learning and the resources that we have created through our ground-breaking programme should get to those who need it the most. At no cost to them. It started with the Kids Saturday Bike Club set up by Mike Healey, who is still one of the key members and coaches. Now joined by several British Cycling coaches, the club offers a variety of training sessions for all disciplines form road, to MTB to track to cyclocross, turbo, rollers and beyond. Our riders range from those who want to have fun on a bike to those who want to race, some of our youth riders have represented the club nationally and even internationally as well as representing Yorkshire at Inter Regional Events.
