I am lucky to have 2 amazing boys one of whom has Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder and a whole host of other SEN conditions. So the first thing to say is I am one of you! I have been the parent in the playground that people look at and have battled the EHCP system to get the support for my son that he needs, but along the way, I have also had some amazing experiences and met some wonderful people and children. I have supported SEN children and their parents for the last 8 years, for the last 5 years I have been school based working with a variety of amazing children all with their own complex needs including Autism, ADHS, Sensory, PDA, Global Delays, Learning Difficulties, Dyslexia and Behavioural Issues.

Peak Upholstery and furnishings is run and managed by Angie Britton, on the outskirts of the small town of Matlock, in Derbyshire. Angie has been making bespoke (made to order) soft furnishings and loose covers since the late '80's and upholstery since the mid '90's. She has professional qualifications in upholstery and loose cover making plus teaching qualifications and plenty of experience of teaching adults in these subjects. As a teacher she feels strongly that when you are learning something new it is important to undertake a project that you can complete on the course and one that is not beyond your level of skill - it is no use deciding to make a loose cover, if you have never sewn anything since you left school! It is also important to return home with your newly learnt skills and continue to use them. Try to make sure that on your return home there are similar projects waiting to be undertaken. The courses are aimed at students of all skill levels, from those wanting to start their own business, to those just wanting to improve the quality of what they make in their own home and from those who have never sewn at all, to those who are already accomplished but want to extend their knowledge.

Littleover Taekwon-Do is a family orientated Taekwon-Do club which took up it’s independent status in 2007. We teach ITF Chang Hon style Taekwon-Do and we are part of Authentic Taekwon-Do England. Authentic England is registered with International Chang-Hon Taekwon-Do Federation (ICTF). We are also registered with the British Martial Arts & Boxing Association. We follow a set grading structure that allows steady progression through the art up to black belt level and beyond. The Instructors See our instructors page The syllabus See our syllabus page. Costs We are not a business and try as much as possible to keep training costs to a minimum. Family groups are encouraged to attend. Our current fees can be seen here. We collect payment monthly, in advance, via bank transfer. We ask students to commit to the full month. This helps us manage the class size cost effectively, and regular attendance is essential to making progress. Some fees (e.g. grading fees) are collected via Spond. Sparring equipment is essential for protection when you start sparring. Students are permitted to spar after successfully passing their first grading. See our equipment list for more information. We strongly recommend purchasing gear from Academy Sports in Derby. When you visit Academy Sports please let them know you are attending Littleover Taekwon-Do so they know to provide the appropriate gear. We don’t receive any commission. If sparring kit is purchased from elsewhere we can’t guarantee it will be acceptable for use within LTKD. Please check with us first. Doboks (the white suits we train in) are ordered via your instructor.

We also provide independent advocacy support for Derbyshire residents who wish to make a complaint about their NHS care or treatment, including any complaint against an organisation or service funded by the NHS. Enjoying Derbyshire: ‘Enjoying Derbyshire’ is our name for our community mental wellbeing programme comprising of groups and activities that have the common goal of improving mental wellbeing by boosting mood, reducing loneliness and isolation, and creating meaningful connections between people in Derbyshire. Active Monitoring: Active Monitoring is our guided self-help service for people experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems. Currently the Derbyshire Mind Active Monitoring service is being delivered from three GP practices across Derbyshire: Crich, Ripley, and Horizon in Derby. MindSpace: Derbyshire Mind’s MindSpace meet-ups are supportive community groups in local parks that creates space for people to get together, get some fresh air, meet some new friends, and be listened to in a friendly and inclusive group. All MindSpace walks are supported by our fantastic Derbyshire Mind volunteers who are friendly, inclusive, welcoming and really great listeners. We listen without judgement and without trying to ‘fix’ or give advice.
