One of the UK’s first community owned farms Ffarm Moelyci has, since 2003, pioneered the idea that community ownership can play a part in how farming both grows good food and nurtures strong communities. With 390 acres of superb wildlife the farm includes a wide range of habitats including: The 220 acres of SSSI heath-land mountaintop; Gwynedd’s finest grasslands for finding fungi. This rich environment is the backdrop to the new era at Ffarm Moelyci. In 2018, after a long period of uncertainty, the farm was sold on the open market to a consortium Ymlaen Moelyci. Ymlaen Moelyci is a consortium of 10+ individual landowners who work collaboratively to make Ffarm Moelyci a success. Each member is able to drive their business to success on their own land, whilst all coming together to pool ideas, inspiration and knowledge. LEAF Health took over the former Hitchin Clinic of Complementary Therapy at 32a Sun Street in November 2013. Janet Beckerleg, LEAF Health Director and Hypnotherapist, had worked at the former clinic for many years. LEAF Health grew and needed more space so in October 2016, the clinic moved to First Floor, 47a Bancroft in Hitchin. In January 2022, we are delighted to say that we have now moved AGAIN, but this time downstairs at 47 Bancroft, Hitchin. This space is located on the ground floor and has 6 therapy rooms and reception. The clinic is run by Debbie Ansell who is Hitchin born and bred. Debbie comes from an admin and PA background, first in the NHS, then for private medical doctors, and then going on to start her own business as a medical PA. LEAF Health Hitchin offers a wonderful space to practice and receive therapy. Located between Regal Chambers and Orford Lodge surgeries, with Courtenay House Surgery a short distance away. There is convenient metered parking across the road plus 2-hours free parking in Sainsburys if you buy something there. There is also Disabled parking on Bancroft itself. Hitchin railway station is approximately 15 minutes’ walk away with trains 30 minutes or so into both London and Cambridge. Since Christopher drowned I/RASS have educated over 500.000 young people and adults across North Wales UK and Ireland as to the dangers of open water. From the beginning I wanted to create a Legacy which would leave a memorable impact on both young people and adults in making them more aware of their own and others safety. The strain on our emergency services over the years and ongoing research has proved that CPR First Aid and SABL Education particularly in Wales was not on our curriculum and therefore in 2021 RASS in Partnership with Ajuda Training will provide this extra service across Wales. This would help in many ways to reduce incidents where people were rescued and aid in the saving of lives using the education taught on a peer to peer basis. RASS works with all the emergency services across the UK and is proud to be involved in the – All Wales Drowning Prevention Strategy of which members are RLSS RNLI ROSPA CFOA MPA to name but a few. Awards RASS has received recognition from Emergency Services across the UK and beyond. Awards such as Free To Network Resilience In Business – Finalist Pride of Britain – Special Achievement Award National Lottery Awards – presented By Bear Grylls – WCVA Award – Liverpool Lifestyle Award – Special Achievement The project is needed as there is not enough Water Safety and Lifesaving Education. Young people take risks, drink alcohol, and put their lives and others in danger. There are a number of ‘Hot Spots’ in the local area and across North Wales where young people visit on a regular basis to have fun and which often are having to be chased away or rescued by our emergency services.
