Founded in 2004, the Link Centre has an excellent reputation both nationally and internationally for its wide range of in-person and online courses in counselling and psychotherapy, transactional analysis and short courses/workshops in various other topics – all delivered by passionate, informed and experienced professionals who are invested in the learning and development of students. Our training centre is located in the heart of the countryside, in Plumpton, East Sussex. As well as this the centre has extensive grounds that can be enjoyed during lunch and tea breaks and various local options for overnight accommodation. We also offer in-house coaching, training and consultancy that is tailored to the needs of our customers. The Chamberlain School of English is a small English family business that has been offering language trips for students (13-17 years old) to Eastbourne on the south coast of England during the school holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia (Easter/Summer) since 1984. During a language trip with us, the students can learn English at the same time as spending a wonderful holiday: specific English lessons in the morning, a varied leisure and entertainment program in the afternoon and evening, trips to London and Brighton and accommodation with English families - extensive language holidays at a fixed all-inclusive price. Thanks to our many years of experience, we know what makes a successful language trip for students. During each language trip there is always only one group. Since we have a limited number of students for each course, we get to know the children within a very short time and the students also quickly make new friends. Our very carefully selected host families for the language trip mostly live near the school or can be reached quickly by bus. The families are nice, open-minded and take good care of our students. We have a great English team of supervisors who are involved in all language travel activities and excursions. This also gives the students plenty of opportunity to use and improve their English in their free time. The teachers are experienced and adapt their lessons to the needs of the students. The small classes make it possible to support the students individually and to respond to the language difficulties of each individual. Our school building , Gildredge Manor , is a beautiful old manor house ideally situated in a lovely park setting close to the town centre. Not only the lessons take place here. We also host our entertainment afternoons and evenings here. Gildredge Manor isn't just home for our language study trips - we live here too, so our door is always open to our students.

To celebrate GAK's 30th anniversary and our fresh look, we're going to delve into our history and how we grew into one of the top music retailers in the UK. It's been a long journey from very humble beginnings to getting to where we are today. And it all started with one man and a market stall. 1992 HUMBLE BEGINNINGS It's been a long journey from very humble beginnings to getting to where we are today. And it all started with one man and a market stall. 1995 BRITPOP EXPLOSION Britpop bands like Oasis, Blur, Suede and Pulp were all electric guitar-based, markedly increasing the demand for the instrument. As the popularity of the guitar flourished, so did the business. 2000 FRESH EXPANSION The business would begin to flourish and grow at a seriously quick pace. Bigger and bigger premises were needed to keep up with the ever-growing amount of stock that needed shipping to customers. 2010 BRAVE NEW WORLD The Internet was a lot like the Wild West back in its early days. By having the foresight and the initiative to delve into this new frontier of sales, we were able to get ahead of the curve and grow alongside the Internet boom. 2016 TEA TO MD From GAK's early days, Max McKellar was helping drive the business forward as it entered unexplored territory. Today, he's leading the company as our Managing Director - a long way to come from cleaning guitars and making tea! 1994 SETTING THE TONE From the beginning, the store was a down-to-earth and unpretentious place to buy your music gear. Everyone was welcome and they were free to try out whatever they wanted. 1996 BEYOND THE STORE A flat above the store had its kitchen and bathroom converted to a mail-order room and office respectively. To spread the word about GAK's Mail Order service, print ads would be run in popular magazines such as Guitarist and Sound On Sound. 2002 THE INTERNET AGE We were one of the first music retailers in the country to go online and have an e-commerce store. Our customers could buy their dream piece of gear, have it brought straight to their house and receive the same friendly service you'd get into the store. 2014 DESTINATION HUB With help from the eye-catching print ads and the enormous success of the website, word spread about what an exciting place the GAK store is to visit. You can walk in and discover something new around each corner. 2022 30 YEARS AND BEYOND As we reach the major milestone that is our 30th birthday, we are beyond excited to unveil the brand new look and feel of the GAK brand. We're looking forward to what the next thirty years and beyond have in store for us.

Small Dole

I wanted to create and express who I was through painting, design, photography and dancing. I wanted to work with colours and shapes. Instead, I was encouraged to pursue a more conventional path and went on studying accounting. It took me a long time to discover, or rather re-discover, my passion. I didn’t choose this purposeful path until I was in my early thirties. I spent the last ten years of my life working in the corporate world before following my true calling. I did enjoy my job in Finance but I wasn’t 100% fulfilled. I clearly wasn’t making use of my strengths and talents. This was frustrating and affected my self-esteem.
