Alexandra Fowler is an author and illustrator living in Cornwall, England. Creating books that are beautiful and interesting to both adult and child is key focus in Alexandra’s style. She is also responsible, under the pen name Lilac Rosenwyn, for the Cornish Legends chapter book series which aims to bring the world of Cornish myths and Legends to a new generation. Alexandra has an extensive background in Environmental education and conservation. Whilst working for a countryside project in Kent, Alexandra ran guided walks and children’s activities with a focus on engaging people in nature through art. Upon moving to Cornwall in 2008, Alexandra topped up her studies in Marine Environmental Management and completed a Certificate in Education, enabling her to work for a number of years as a Lecturer in Marine Biology. With the birth of her three children, Alexandra combined her educational and artistic background to create inspiring and informative children’s books for ages 9 and under. Working in traditional mediums of watercolour Alexandra creates visually appealing stories to inspire. She additionally works with other authors to bring their words to life with her illustrations.

I am currently self-employed private tutor within South Yorkshire region working with a broad range of students; this also includes SEN and adult learners. I have taught all three sciences at KS2, KS3 and KS4 across several exam boards and have also taught the iGCSE CIE curriculum. I have now extended my subjects to include Maths at KS2, KS3 and KS4 and will soon be offering A-Level Maths. I also offer A-Level Biology and A-Level Chemistry tuition. I have been tutoring for just over four years now, with four years worth of teaching experience in total. My students have made excellent progress and received their target grades or better, and thoroughly enjoyed our tutorials together. I have a tailored approach to each student’s needs, weaknesses and strengths and work towards targets and achievable goals. I like to pre-plan all lessons with self-learning material, taught material, questions, exam-style questions and application of knowledge questions. I also like to set additional (optional) tasks which can be done after tutoring sessions to secure knowledge. If students wish to receive any additional support outside of the tutoring session, I offer email support for no additional cost.
