Bolton Smart Enterprise is a not for profit organisation that offers Educational and Social Opportunities supporting young adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities aged 18 yrs – 35yrs. We offer bespoke accessible Creative Learning programmes within a safe and secure environment. The programmes we offer to young adults with SEND are designed to build confidence, self-esteem, motivation and develop life skills to enable those participating to become more resilient and move positively into training, education, employment and volunteering opportunities. Programmes we deliver include; Arts, Craft and Design, Drama, Basic/Life Skills, Creative Enterprise Workshops, Music and Dance, Volunteer Training, Heritage Projects, Health and Wellbeing Programmes, Social and Leisure Activities. Please enquire for current programmes on offer. We accept Direct Payments for those individuals with a EHCP in place on a referral basis. Randalstown ARCHES Association was formed in 1995. It’s early work started with a strategy, developed after consultation with the local community. Some basic structures and services were put in place, starting with the community newsletter, Arches Outlook. Notable events and achievements since then include: The designation of Randalstown as a Conservation Area Illumination of the Viaduct Bridging the Divide with the Viaduct bridge Launch of Townscape Initiative Construction of ARCHES Mews Community Playground Development of the gap site in the John Street car park at the end of ARCHES Lane Annual organisation of the Christmas lights and ARCHES Festival We have worked along with the local council to develop a Highway to Health Walking Route and worked with Randalstown Pharmacies to develop a Community Pharmacy Project which is ongoing. As well as projects, ARCHES has also aimed to improve people’s lives through a range of training, education and community work provision. Over 4,000 people have gone through courses with ARCHES since 2001!

Fire the Inventor encourages a hands-on making, crafting, inventing, tinkering and repairing culture, and giving ourselves the time and opportunity to play around with a bunch of materials and (re)discover playful creativity.

Haverstock Fencing Club was formed in 1995 by a committee of epee fencers from London clubs who wanted to establish a centre of excellence in North London. They quickly managed to gain a reputation on two levels, namely as a place for elite fencers to train for the competition circuit, and secondly as a friendly but professional environment for children and adults to learn how to fence. The evidence of their success speaks for itself. Haverstock fencers have a fearsome reputation on the competition circuit, with many current and former national champions training there, male and female. Haverstock has been the dominant force in British epee fencing almost since it was established. Indeed, when top fencers arrive in London from abroad, Haverstock is normally their first port of call. More importantly, Haverstock has always seen itself as a progressive club, open to all, with a particular emphasis on children and the local community. Beginners courses are often oversubscribed and many of those that went through the early courses are now well regarded on the senior circuit. Haverstock coaches take great pride in the ability of their young protégés, and the club has also catered for disabled fencers. Costs are kept low to ensure the sport is open to all. The club has two full-time coaches (with World and European Championship experience) and two part-time coaches, who take care of all newcomers, giving them a solid grounding in the basic skills required, teaching in a fun but challenging way. Haverstock is one of the best equipped clubs in the country, with plenty of kit for beginners to use for free while they decide whether the sport is for them. Training takes place three nights a week, with a mix of group lessons, individual lessons and fitness work to cater for all levels. We also run popular training camps and weekend courses. The Chairman and committee are dedicated to continuing to cater for both the elite competitors who have so enhanced the reputation of the club as well as newcomers to the sport, along with the many children and adults who are now “hooked” on fencing, having had their introduction to it at Haverstock.

J and K Training specialise in the delivery of Functional Skills English and maths qualifications predominantly across Tees Valley and County Durham. We have been delivering highly successful programmes for over 13 years with achievement rates in excess of 90%. Our teaching staff are highly experienced and qualified specialists in English and maths. They use their experience and expertise very effectively to engage and motivate learners to make excellent progress and achieve in their learning. We have worked extensively with Jobcentre Plus across the North East for over 9 years and they value the support we provide for their customers in moving them towards employment. Our courses are suitable for those individuals who would like to gain a qualification or update their existing skills. We offer English and maths from Entry Level 1 up to and including Level 2. We work with learners at their own pace, one-to-one or in small groups in local centres. The qualifications can also be delivered on-line. Courses are tailored to meet individual needs and are fully funded subject to eligibility. In October 2020, we commenced delivery of the new Essential Digital Skills qualifications which have been developed to support adults aged 19+ who do not have the basic digital skills that are required for life and work. This course covers: – Using devices and handling information (includes how to store information) Creating and editing Communicating online (such as email, via Social Media) Transacting (buying) online activities Being responsible, safe and legal online
