Anahat Theatre creates work through devising, movement and text. Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, the company makes work locally with a multicultural outlook. Learn more about our projects and workshop. A fun and physical approach to storytelling where you will discover how to turn personal stories into short performances. This online workshop gives you basic tools to tell stories in imaginative ways. What stories blow you away? The session includes: Games and warm-ups Improvisation training Storytelling techniques Suitable for theatremakers, musicians, performers and/or directors and anyone interested in improvisation and storytelling. Spaces are limited. The group will be small so we can keep safe whilst truly connecting with each other. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Andrea is a passionate theatremaker specialising in devised theatre, physical comedy and story theatre.

I studied Art & Design at Falmouth Art School and then took a degree in Graphic Design & Illustration at Southampton Solent University. I now work as a product developer for a large, international jewellery manufacturer. Most of the work is commercial and not particularly creative. So as a creative outlet I enjoy many craft hobbies such as crochet, knitting and sewing and occasional a bit of illustration. It all started a long time ago… I moved to Germany when I was two and was put into the local kindergarten. I couldn’t speak a word of German, however the teacher, Frau Pfenning began my integration by teaching me to knit – purely by demonstration. When I came back to the UK aged nine, my mother taught me basic crochet and I became adept at making dolls’ clothes using only single crochet – discovering I could shape garments using increases and decreases. She also influenced my knitting style – I am a “pit knitter”, as was her grandmother. As an adult, I didn’t rediscover crochet and knitting until my early thirties – 10 years on and my hobbies have become my passion. The site is structured as stand alone sections, each taking the absolute beginner through the basic start up procedures towards independent modeling. The content has been carefully put together after many years teaching experience and is delivered through video tutorials which allow the user to progress at a pace appropriate to them. Subscribers can sign up to one, two, three, up to six areas of the site - there is no better way to quickly reach a point where modellers are truly integrating the features of a range of softwares in a single project. Subscription rates have been kept deliberately low to encourage this.

Our 'beginners' level, Level 1 is often the first time that children enter the pool without their parent and our whole focus is on water confidence, basic water safety and the foundation skills for independent swimming. The ratios are small to enable a rapport to build between the teacher and children - and it quickly does. Level 2 By Level 2, our children are swimming 5m and lifting their head to breathe. We now work with them to build their confidence further. We still operate a small class ratio but there are more group activities, reflecting the increased level of ability in this group e.g. we will send them for swims in groups of 2 or 3 to and from the teacher and the poolside. There is less reliance on buoyancy aids (floats and woggles) and the teachers become gradually more hands off.
