M.O.P. FORMATION As you begin the journey of discerning your vocation, be assured that you are not left to yourself. The Missionaries of the Poor provides a comprehensive formation program that includes the opportunity to experience the life of brotherhood, a rigorous theological and spiritual training program and years of hands-on experience in our work. This formation consists of five stages: 1. Aspirancy (6 months to 1 year): New vocations begin with one year of introduction to the life and work of the Missionaries of the Poor. This period of formation takes place at the MOP mission in your home country. The goal of this period is simply to assist you in discerning whether God is calling you to serve Him with us. 2. Postulancy (6 months): Formation continues as you continue to test your vocation to religious life. If you grow in your conviction that the religious life is in fact God’s will for you, postulancy ends and you remove to the Institute’s headquarters in Kingston, Jamaica to continue formation. 3. Novitiate (2 years): The first year (canonical) of the Novitiate emphasizes prayer and contemplation and includes a 40 day retreat. The second year (apostolical) emphasizes the work or apostolate of the Missionaries of the Poor. 4. Juniorate (6 years): At the end of the Novitiate, temporary vows of six years is made. During these three years, brothers in formation continue to grow in the knowledge of the mission and works of the Institute. 5. Seniorate (life): With the approval of the Institute, brothers in formation may be admitted to perpetual profession, that is, vows for lifetime service. DID YOU KNOW? Hello!! My name is Muge and I am the founder of My Breathing Path! I was born in Istanbul, Turkey and I lived there until 2018. I was working in the Turkish finance industry for more than 10 years and during that time I was suffering from an advanced hernia in my neck. Working in a high stress environment and dealing with lots of problems at the same time, made me a super-achiever. I first came across breathwork in a workshop in 2010. It was extremely powerful but also it was completely different to the other techniques that I had tried before. As I continued to go to the sessions, it helped me to understand my behaviour as a perfectionist and its subsequent consequences for my life, the hernia and my unbalanced relationship with my family, friends and colleagues. After experiencing healing and transformation myself, I decided to become a facilitator. Since 2014, I have been working in the field of Transformational Breath as a Certified Transformational Breath Facilitator in private sessions, workshops and seminars while I continued to work in my finance career. I have experience in working with a wide variety of people – each possessing their own set of needs and goals. My further qualifications, Basic DNA Theta Healing Practitioner and Reiki II Certification are used in conjunction with Transformational Breath sessions to help people reach their potential and achieve their goals. Life is a combination of different journeys and within my new journey in the UK, I look forward to sharing my experiences through transformational breathing sessions with others, who want to discover more about themselves with transformation in their life, increase their self-awareness and live a healthier lifestyle.

A little about me… I studied rural science at school which I enjoyed as it covered life cycle of native animals, plants and trees, natural habitat, conservation and land management at a basic level, art and history also firm favourites. In my late twenties I decided to return to college to pursue a career in hairdressing and soon to be followed, by a two year course in beauty therapy. My passion for natural source of healing combined with plant extracts and massage therapy was realised. At this point I was working full time in a local beauty salon in Skipton, returning to Craven College to study aromatherapy part time for a further year. After gaining valuable experience in the beauty salon, whilst having a young family I worked part time for Next PLC Skipton. This position built my confidence, varied retail business and social skills, working with amazing colleagues, as a sales adviser occasionally a weekend manager. Moving forward I started my own business as a beauty and holistic therapist treating my clients in their own homes or local businesses. Always interested in building and growing my business, I have further trained in several holistic therapies, which include aromatherapy individual blends. I am also a qualified Tai Chi for Health instructor with my own classes in Skipton, Craven and Keighley, support local community wellbeing organisations providing healthy lifestyle activities. My family, friends and clients have always helped and encourage me with my career choice, offering to be guinea pigs when I have required models for new treatments and accepting my flexible working hours. In the past I offered my expertise as a volunteer complementary therapist, aromatherapy practitioner at the local wellbeing cancer support centre in Skipton. I have also held the volunteer position of chairlady of SWIFT (Support Women Inspiring Friendship Training) a local (Skipton Craven Keighley) small business networking group formally known as WorcNet supporting small businesses, charities, local organisations and groups. Due to the pandemic the networking group no longer exists.
