Boundary Arts Centre is a Dance, Musical Theatre and Acrobatics Arts school based in Ashton Under Lyne. Providing classes from age 2 to Adults in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Commercial, Contemporary, Progressive Ballet Technique, Acrobatics Arts and Alixa Flexibility.We also provide private Music, Singing, Drama and Dance lessons. All of our classes are held at our BAC studios in Ashton and whilst you wait, you can take a seat in our cafe, have a bite to eat and enjoy a hot cup of coffee. (covid permitting) Boundary Arts Centre was established in April 2012 by Director, professional dancer and teacher Siobhan Pownall. We began in a small local studio in Audenshaw with only a couple of students in the class. The school expanded so much after a short few months that we moved into a slightly bigger premises and also opened up another venue in Ashton. In 2014 we had three different sites in Tameside until we decided to combine them all to one venue in Ashton Under Lyne which then created Boundary Dance Company. However, as we continue to expand our school and keep offering such a variety of classes we changed the name to Boundary Arts Centre. All students that are 5+ and take part in our prestigious government accredited RAD Ballet IDTA Tap exams and Acrobatic Arts exams. And students aged 3+ can participate in IDTA musical theatre exams. All students have the opportunity to take part in our annual showcase that will not only develop skills which assist in their personal development but also skills which could lead them onto a professional career, if they wish. We also take part in mini performances and competitions through out the year which we have been extremely successful in. We believe that hard work, discipline and determination are essential and we encourage all students to believe in themselves.

Marie Gratton (Beazley) AISTD/ DDI/DDE is the founder and principal of Dance Sensation School of Performing Arts. Founded in 2005, the school has rapidly grown with over 200 students currently attending. Specialising in ISTD Ballet, Modern, Tap, Jazz and Musical Theatre taught by an ISTD qualified teacher. Marie trained at Redroofs Theatre School in Maidenhead and then went on to further her training at Doreen Bird College in London. Marie worked in many professional shows including Grease, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Piazza dancer at Alton Towers and danced in the show Spirit of the Dance where she toured Far East Asia and Europe. She then worked for 3 years on cruise ships with Thomson, P&O and Festival cruises. Marie has taught for many years at private schools and for other principals and in 2005, she decided to fulfil her dream and start her own dance school. Dance Sensation started with 5 children and now we have over 200 students whom attend Dance Sensation. Marie absolutely loves her job and is incredibly passionate about what she teaches. It’s also very important that dancing is taught by a fully qualified dance teacher who understands the body and teaches dance in a safe environment. Marie is a fully qualified Imperial Ballet, ISTD Modern and Tap teacher and is very proud of her qualifications. We are an exam based school where the children get to take exams in all 3 genres and we also perform yearly shows shannon allen dance teacher Shannon Allen Contemporary and ISTD Teacher Shannon Allen Shannon started dancing at the age of 8 at Dance Sensation and was trained by Miss Marie, focusing primarily on ISTD dance examinations and performing in multiple musical and dance shows throughout the years. She then went on to train professionally at London Studio Centre for their Theatre Dance degree course in which she graduated in 2018 with a focus in musical theatre. During her degree course, Shannon performed as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Martha in Spring Awakening and ensemble/dance roles in The Witches of Eastwick, Little Shop of Horrors and Cabaret. Since graduating, she performed at various venues within London as a dancer, and modelled for numerous styled shoots before pursuing a career in teaching. Alongside teaching dance and musical theatre, Shannon works in a Primary School during the week and is currently in the process of completing her ISTD DDE Modern Teaching exams. Shannon is super excited to be joining the Dance Sensation team and we are so glad to have her back.

Barbara holds a University Degree in Spanish Dance and Classical Ballet from the Real University College of Mariemma in Madrid, she achieved out outstanding exam results, also she has a Business Administration University Degree and BBA Bachelor in Business Administration from Wolverhampton university. Barbara is a highly qualified and experienced dance teacher & chorographer. Barbara also masters the art of castanets, Spanish fan technique and flamenco shawl movements to compliment the flamenco and techniques. Barbara studied with the outstanding and most popular Spanish masters of Ballet and Flamenco. Mr. Antonio Salas, Aurora Pons, Marta de la Vega and Mariemma. Barbara followed by a perfection of the technique and style at the renowned schools of Mariemma, Marta de la Vega, masters classes at the School of “Maria Rosa” and school of “Amor de dios”, marters classes with the great flamenco dancers Antonio Canales, Alfonso Losa, Maria Juncal. Barbara is a professional dancer, choreographer and teacher. Dedicated to students of all ages, she is characterized by elegance and neatness in execution, and the use of elements like the castanets, the shawl, fan. Her teaching style that is technical and specific, she strives to give every student the best personal educational experience possible. Your success is my dream. Barbara is a master of Flamenco and she brings to Sheffield directly from Spain, with sole and spirit the passion and elegance of this fine art.

Phil started dancing by learning Salsa and he got addicted to dance, moving on to bachata and kizomba, as well as other styles such as zouk. He was obsessed with perfecting the art of movement, with a sharp technical mind and a great enthusiasm for helping others around him grow as dancers. Initially, Phil started as a student on the dance scene, and got into teaching when other students asked for lessons. His passion for dance is infectious and you can clearly see that in his classes. Meredith is originally from Seattle and has more than a decade of experience on the high calibre dance scene in the big city. She started training in Ballet and you can see this, with the style, grace and elegance she brings to her dancing. Her ladies styling is well sought after and something the Belfast dance scene is craving. They hope to see you join the classes and they want to help grow the dance scene in Belfast, and bring in some fresh dancers, so that everyone can experience, benefit and enjoy themselves through the gift of dance.
