Who We Are yoga[lab] bham was started as a place for yoga to happen with some of the most knowledgeable instructors that Birmingham has to offer. Our studio offers the simplicity of alignment based yoga in an environment devoted to our community. We are a welcoming group providing the space for our students to make connections to body, mind and spirit. Our mission is to make yoga more accessible to everyone and to find laughter in our devotion. At the heart of our belief is that we know that yoga is more than a workout and that creating a community of mindfulness, self-awareness and peaceful well being in our space is something that we can share with everyone. yoga[lab] bham is a yoga studio located in Birmingham’s Southside/Medical area specializing in vinyasa style yoga. We have classes 7 days a week and offer ongoing beginner series for students wanting to learn more about yoga. Class Descriptions Vinyasa Flow : Vinyasa is a movement based class. Yoga postures are connected with the breath in a creative and flowing sequence. The classes are deigned to strengthen balance, awareness, flexibility and range of motion. Modifications will be given for varying levels. Expect to laugh and have fun, no perfection required. Some knowledge of yoga might be helpful but doesn’t mean you can’t come and give it a try. Flow and Go: This one hour class will pack it all in to get you out the door in time for your other activities. Expect to flow and generate some heat. Suitable for all levels.

ABOUT US The Adam Virgo Academy was established in 2018 by former Celtic FC and Brighton & Hove Albion professional footballer, Adam Virgo. The academy promotes an inclusive, safe environment where players are free to progress at their own pace while enjoying the professional feel of facilities and coaching in a football environment. After decades in the corporate world we reached a tipping point where we needed to channel our energy into something new. We had both spent so much of our careers running, racing, relentlessly pushing, proving, re-proving, worrying, wondering, apologising. Loving it most days but at times, totally exhausted by the pressure of juggling it all. Forever climbing expectations of time and energy until the bank is empty. More and more “baby birds” demanding attention as you climb up the ladder and manage larger teams. That nagging feeling that there is always something you should be doing. Giving a little bit more. Being a touch more proactive. Staying that bit later. Being a bit more committed. More plates spinning as life gets yet more complicated with children and mortgages and sick parents and far far too much adulting. Too much guilt. Life was becoming totally out of balance. Relationships suffered. Health took a hammering. But then we realised, hang on, it isn’t all out of our hands, it is absolutely in our control. It is possible to manage our energy and even have more of it than ever before. We can fill up the bank until it’s bursting at the seams. We just didn’t realise you have to stop being so reactive and leaving yourself at the bottom of the priority pile. It hadn’t dawned on us that you have to take control of managing your wellbeing. We didn’t know that it’s in everyone’s interest to put yourself first. And even if we did, we had never been taught how?
