Ben McLeod is based in the English Lake District and his move towards greater
emphasis on the landscape in his painting has been heavily influenced by the
native landscape around him. Working predominantly in oils his work is a
response to the environment reflecting his travels not just in and around
Cumbria but beyond. Like a visual diary the thick impasto paint is a physical
response to open spaces and the effects of ever changing weather on land and
sea.
