Gavin started in the fitness industry as a PTI ( Physical Training Instructor ) in the Army in 2000. With three years experience working as a PTI in the Army Gavin decided to further his career in civilian street back home in Manchester. Gavin qualified as a Personal Trainer and Sports Therapist obtaining a Premier Diploma in 2003. Over the past eleven years as well as Personal Training, Gavin has been working as a Fitness Manager and Operations Manger for a large health club, and later major national fitness organisation. Whilst developing his managerial skills Gavin has been Personal Training and instructing military fitness classes to large groups in local parks. He has also qualified as an instructor in a number of disciplines Boxercise, Core Stability, Spin and FA Level 1 & 2 Football Coach. Motiv8 Personal Training can provide home training across Manchester and Cheshire, Gavin is the Principal Trainer and has linked up with other Personal Trainers across the region to form a network. We will arrange your own experienced Personal trainer in the most convenient location to you. If you would like to request Gavin personally the rates may change according to travel. Helens professional history included time working as a Senior Nurse Advisor at NHS Direct a Resuscitation Nurse Trainer in Devon and latterly as a School Matron in a private school. David has worked with Helen for several years providing support in training and assessing groups until Helen handed over the reigns in the summer of 2017. David has had a rich career in Health Care. He started in the St John Ambulance aged 12, Joined the Army as a Combat Medical Technician at 16 and trained to work in Operating Theatres a few years later. In 1992 He qualified as a Registered General Nurse working children with disabilities, elderly care, prison health care, NHS Direct and going on to qualify and practice as Specialist Community Public Health Nurse. David began his training career as an Officer with the RAF Volunteer Reserve where he maintains his affiliation with the Combined cadet force to this day. Helen developed a training ethos of gentle, fun, educational and practice-based learning which David continues to deliver. Lady Dannatt has served as High Sheriff, taking mental health as her theme. She is a Lay Canon of Norwich Cathedral, Vice President of SSAFA and a former Deputy Chair of its Adoption Panel. She is also President of The Army Widows' Association, President of The Norfolk Club and active Patron of numerous county-based organisations, particularly those involved with mental health.

Having grown up in the West Country, joining the army 3 days after his 18th birthday, Gary quickly took full advantage of all that the military has to offer in fitness and adventure. Alongside operational tours of duty, Gary became a highly qualified Physical Training Instructor as well as teaching many outdoor pursuit activities, from Skiing to climbing, mountaineering to kayaking. On leaving the service he quickly recognised the skills he had attained during his time could be put to good use as a Personal Trainer and Group fitness instructor. Very quickly noticing civilians responded very positively to his “fun, firm, friendly, military style” of teaching. From this he went on to form what is now ODFC Fitness. 20+ years on and still doing what he does and still loving the challenges it brings. Away from classes, now married to the gorgeous Fiona and trying to be a good father to his two amazing boys, Noah and Zach, life is still an exciting adventure.

Hi, I'm Steve Collis - Outdoor enthusiast and Director / Owner of Upper Limits UK. I love to be out of my comfort zone. I have always loved it. Whether I was skydiving, rock climbing or learning a new skill, I have always wanted to live my life to the fullest. For me, discovering my strengths took time but once I let go of fear, I realised that there was no limit. My first step was joining the Army at 16, where I learned the tools that I now live my life by. Since joining the Armed Forces and becoming a Junior Leader, I have surrounded myself with people that I admire; people that inspire; people that have something to teach and from whom I can learn. I know that learning a new way of doing things is a challenge but with the right set of skills and abilities, anything and everything is possible. I believe my purpose is to become the fullest expression of myself and to help others do the same.
