Totally Holistic Health

totally holistic health

Holistic Therapist and Yogi - helping you achieve good health though natural therapies and Yoga. Totally Holistic Health was founded by myself, Julie Elder in 2005. I specialise in providing complementary therapy services.  These include Yoga, Bowen, Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, Kinesiology,  Reflexology and Reiki.  I am based in Cheadle Hulme covering the North Cheshire and South Manchester area. I have always had an interest in Natural Health even from an early age.  After years of working in a corporate environment and seeing the stresses and strains it placed on the body, health and wellbeing I was confident that I needed a change of direction. The ideal opportunity came when my son started school.  This was when I decided to retrain as a therapist.  Within 6 weeks of starting my course I discovered I was pregnant with my daughter – who said that stress doesn’t affect fertility!! I completed the first year of my course, gave birth to my daughter in the summer and continued with the second year with baby in tow.  I still however managed to achieve a college award and distinctions in my HND in Health and Complementary Therapies.  The course gave me a fantastic grounding in all aspects of working in a therapeutic environment.  This included counselling skills; psychology; sociology; diet and nutrition; anatomy and physiology. I also became qualified  Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Swedish Massage and Indian head Massage. My knowledge and determination has never wavered.   I love learning new skills, therapies and gaining new knowledge. Since qualifying in 2005 I have become qualified as a Reiki master; Advanced Bowen practitioner; Baby Massage instructor; Kinesiologist to diploma level and also hold qualifications in Pregnancy Massage; Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage; Natural face Lift Massage and Mindfulness. I am also enhancing my lifelong love of Yoga and have trained as a Yoga Teacher to enhance the treatments I can offer you. Having recently seen the devastating mental health issues after two years of coronavirus and lockdowns I also wanted to offer a supportive service to help with this too so embarked on an amazing Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy course which I completed in 2022.  I am so pleased to be able this awesome modality to my therapy arsenal. Customer service is very important to me and I try to follow up each client’s treatment. Also maintaining and updating my training regularly helps me add additional skills and knowledge to help you receive the best help and advice I can give.

Stonebridge Associated Colleges is a team of bright and motivated people dedicated to helping learners fulfil their potential and meet their career goals. Set up in 1995, Stonebridge Associated Colleges was initially intended to help people qualify in complementary therapies, such as reflexology and aromatherapy. Gradually, it moved towards more mainstream practices such as teaching, nursing, healthcare, business, nutrition and beauty. Some of the students we helped went on to study Marine Biology at university. Others have chosen teaching assistant courses that have landed them an early promotion. As their needs diversified, so did our curriculum. Two decades later the college became a leading name in the world of further education. Today, Stonebridge Associated Colleges has training facilities in Bude and Birmingham for a few of our vocational courses where our experienced tutors bring a hands-on approach to the teaching. However, there are over 650 online courses that can be completed remotely from anywhere in the world. With 50,000 students currently enrolled, the college is one of the largest distance learning suppliers in the UK. A dedicated support team is also on hand to address student questions regarding enrolment, finances and guidance on the best-suited courses for you. Today we are proud to be part of The Stonebridge Group, a number of companies operating in the distance learning field for both government-subsidised and commercially-funded qualifications.

Lottie has been practicing yoga for over 15 years and teaching for 10 years. She is a 500 hour registered teacher, holds the Yoga Campus Teacher Training Diploma and is accredited with the British Wheel of Yoga. Lottie has trained with some world-renowned teachers and and her classes draw upon the various styles she has been taught including Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Sivananda. She teaches Yin Yoga and Flow Yoga for mixed abilities and beginners classes with sequences that can be modified to make them more/less challenging depending on the student’s level. She includes asanas (poses) for strength and flexibility with a focus on alignment, pranayama (breathing) exercises to calm the mind, meditation to cultivate inner awareness and relaxation to allow the body and mind to rest and rejuvenate. Lottie enjoys bringing her yoga practice to the local community and she believes that yoga is for everyone. Her classes will leave you feeling energised yet calmer. A regular yoga practice ensures a healthy mind and body. What brought me to Yoga and why I do it? I was looking to improve my flexibility and to aid relaxation. Like many people I wondered what to expect at my first class, but I was hooked from the beginning and came away feeling calmer and more energised, ready to take on life. It brought me an hour of calm in my day. I was eager to learn the asanas (poses) and their Sanskrit names (classic language of ancient India), the breathing exercises and always savoured resting in Corpse pose (Savasana) at the end of class. I then decided to explore yoga in more depth, learn about the philosophy and anatomy and to teach yoga to others, so I enrolled on the Diploma course with Yogacampus where I was taught by some truly inspiring yoga teachers including Lisa Sanfilippo, Jo Manuel, Katrina Repka, Liz Lark, Aadil Palkhivala, Doug Keller and Dr. Ruth Gilmore. For me yoga gives me energy and focus, makes me smile, and keeps me grounded in everyday life. Even when it is challenging I love it and it makes me seek out more. Every day I arrive on my mat I have a new experience and that is great!

The faculty, trained and supported by learning specialists and mental health professionals, focuses on critical thinking in all areas of learning. Our Cloud Campus welcomes online students from around the world into live, discussion-based classes and our community, either full-time or part-time. FlexSchool has had great success with remote students from Florida, Washington, California, West Virginia, United Arab Emirates, Bermuda, and Switzerland among other places! back next History FlexSchool started to save one twelve-year-old girl. Jane loved to learn what she wanted to learn, and spent hours engrossed in videos and web pages about animals. She could tell you about muscle cells and animal anatomy. She researched Native Americans and made all of the games and weapons used by the Lenni-Lenape out of found objects and craft supplies. She spent hours drawing and painting and could write fiction better than most college students. Yet, she loathed school. She rarely spoke in class, dropped out of the gifted and talented program, either didn’t do her homework or would forget to turn it in. She had As on the tests and Cs and Ds in the class. Jane’s academic future looked dismal. Poor grades and high test scores are not a winning combination for college admission. Her public school was not the right place for her, but neither were the local private schools. Academically-oriented private schools do not accept students with poor grades. Schools that accept students with poor grades are not always academically rigorous. Stalemate. Until we started FlexSchool. Jane spent six years at FlexSchool, learned to love learning again, graduated in 2020, and attends a well-known liberal arts college studying anthropology, linguistics, map-making, and art.
