DT Craft & Design

dt craft & design

Making Futures is a social enterprise working with a wide range of groups to improve health, wellbeing, self-esteem & employability through creative arts. Making Futures CIC is the latest addition to the DT Craft & Design family. Debbie has been quietly running Making Futures for several years, teaching and producing training materials, mentoring and working with community groups. As it has now ‘grown up’ we thought it should have its own website so welcome to our new space here on the web. The DT Crafts shop is, of course still very much available, with an ever-increasing range of products (and a need for more storage space!). It’s still just the two of us looking after you so expect the same personalised service and attention to detail here as at the shop. Debbie will still be answering your emails and questions (no ‘bots’ on our sites!), taking workshop and course bookings and discussing your requirements for courses, groups and projects. Speaking of which, we are thrilled to announce that we have joined the Artybird flock and we are delighted to be able to offer two amazing, professional distance learning knitwear design programmes – both accredited by City & Guilds. We’ve produced a short video and prospectuses for each programme which you can find here. And for those of you who may not have met us in person or are new visitors, we’ve done a short video about Debbie and how DT Crafts and Making Futures came about, here. There’s lots more to come, both ‘virtually’ and in person so do bookmark the page and we hope to see you on a course or workshop soon!

These issues are thematic collections of works by Kashmiri women from diverse backgrounds in the form of academic articles, narrative essays, investigative reports, auto-ethnographic accounts, interviews, artworks, photo-essays, video stories, and more. We are a network of women on ground and across the world working collaboratively on interdisciplinary projects ranging from gender based violence, peace and security, climate crisis, public health, and so on. University of Bristol Underwater Club (UBUC)

university of bristol underwater club (ubuc)

Bristol

UBUC was established during the 1960/61 academic year. Considering that scuba gear was invented in 1943 by Jacques Cousteau, much has changed in 50 years! The club ranges from new trainees to seasoned divers whose expertise is vital to the smooth running of UBUC. One of our main goals is to provide affordable scuba diving training. Every year we train around 30 divers and provide a number of internationally recognised qualifications from beginner to advanced diver levels. We are affiliated to the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), and therefore issue qualifications according to BSAC standards. Over the last few years, we have gained a number of BSAC awards recognising our achievements in training. The club is overseen by 10 committee members. However, being such an active club means we rely on help from everyone to organise trips, help with equipment maintenance and assist with training. We especially encourage aspiring Dive Leaders to organise their own trips. We are also a friendly and sociable bunch! Our dedicated Social Secretaries runs most of our social events, including diving talks, boat pub crawls, trips, and much more! Anyone, however, can organise an event. BSAC Affiliation UBUC is a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club. We are branch number 9160. Scuba Diving Training We offer extensive training for SCUBA diving, anywhere from beginner to advanced diver levels. We teach using the standards of our diving agency BSAC. See the Learn To Dive and Already Qualified pages for more information on the qualifications. In addition, we run Skills Development Courses (SDCs), Instructor Qualifications and also the occasional Freediving course.

Fylde Coast Scitt

fylde coast scitt

Old Road

Train to teach with us on the Fylde Coast or in Liverpool. You can use the buttons below to view/download our information leaflet and submit your application via the Government Apply Service which is now Open! Firstly, our programmes are completely personalised to each candidate; no two people have the same experience because we only train between 20 and 30 trainees each year. Unlike the big university models where you would be one of 200 trainee teachers, we tailor the year to maximise your skills and you will therefore be better prepared to teach. We have our own supportive SCITT community, our own wellbeing programme and our own life coach. Secondly, because our trainees don’t have to attend University lectures, we have time to give them a bespoke enhancement programme running alongside the mainstream school placements. Our secondary trainees have the opportunity to teach in primary schools, pupil referral units, Special Educational Needs settings, work with CAHMS and teach in Sixth Forms. They also spend time at our local private schools to teach children with English as an additional language. Again, trainee curriculum design is tailored to maximise preparation. Thirdly, our programmes are competitively priced because we know graduates are already carrying huge university debts. We charge £7705 for QTS, as opposed to £9000, but we also give a free qualification for secondary trainees in addition to QTS so they leave as qualified Teachers of the PSHE Association [Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education]. This gives them an edge over other candidates when applying for jobs, and fully prepares them for teaching beyond the curriculum and preparing their pupils for life in modern Britain.

Negotiation Workshop Ltd.

negotiation workshop ltd.

Oxford

Based in Oxford, Negotiation Workshop has been delivering highly impactful negotiation skills training and consulting to blue chip organisations in U.K. and Europe since 2001. We stay close to the latest research and academic development in the field and incorporate what impresses us from this arena with methodology that we recognise is effective in our own negotiations. It is not possible to deliver this sort of skills-development and consulting effectively by reading a script. Issues arise, questions are asked and genuine examples and anecdotes are required. Trainers need to be negotiators who have had relevant and significant commercial experience and this is what you will get from Negotiation Workshop. Many other training companies simply don’t have this sort of person on their books. Lead consultant for many workshops is David Bryson who has negotiated hundreds of high-value and often complex deals in many different countries. In addition to his wealth of commercial experience, he is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply, has been extensively trained in the widely-used Harvard method at The Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, and holds a BSc.(Hons) in Economics. He has delivered negotiation skills training for the executive education programs of Warwick Business School and Cass Business School and regularly contributes to conferences on negotiation around the globe. Negotiation Workshop comprises a small team of senior, well-respected professionals, all of whom have had deep commercial experience and who excel at communication in the training context. Precisely who delivers your training program is important and will be discussed with you and confirmed at an early stage.
