The CRUMBS Project changes the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged adults through ‘training for independence.’ From our training centre in Bournemouth, we deliver Hospitality based programmes, endorsed by the Institute of Hospitality, in Food Production & Service, Housekeeping, Administration, and Digital skills.  We work with around 30 adults a year aged between 18-70 who have learning disabilities, mental health conditions, stabilised addictions or acquired brain injuries. We educate and support trainees to develop professional skills for work and personal skills to live more independently. Over 90% of our trainees move into employment at the end of their training programmes and all gain the confidence and self-esteem to be more independent.

V Learning Network is a charitable company originally set up in 2001 as the lead of a consortium created to deliver adult and young people mainstream funded education. The consortium was made up of independent training providers in the Third Sector throughout Devon and Cornwall. In August 2021, due to some changes in funding, the nature and focus of the company shifted slightly. We are used to working in a proactive and agile way so have been able to adapt, evolve and innovate, and continue to do so. To fit the growing needs of the business and to strengthen our brand identity, we have changed the company name to V Learning Network trading as Step into Learning – Step Into Learning will be the sole, public facing name used across all our touchpoints going forwards. We still offer young people mainstream funded education and we currently work with three charities and Community Interest Groups (The Outdoor Place, Transferable Skills Training, Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change), enabling them to deliver high quality training by providing sustainable funding. The funding allows our partners to offer a range of training opportunities and deliver quality programmes within Cornwall. Step Into Learning also delivers quality, in-house training, projects and services via its own training division. Step Into Learning is based in Launceston, Cornwall, however, our reach extends much further. We offer training across Devon and Cornwall and have the scope to cover any geographical location due to our flexible delivery – face to face, blended learning (mix of face to face and online) and online. Step Into Learning specialise in working with learners looking to open up new career pathways, or those looking to get back into work. We are committed to giving back to our local community: * SILC is our counselling service providing free, confidential counselling for the Launceston community. * Our community larder for Launceston opened in May 2022. The focus of the community larder is reducing food waste and giving local people access to nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste.

My qualification is accredited by the National Council of Hypnotherapy (NCH) and recognised as meeting the professional standards set by the NHS. My practice is governed by standards set by the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH). I’m also a registered practitioner with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). My previous experience of working with people spans over 17 years in the Criminal Justice System. I have worked with clients with numerous issues including mental health, addictions, and many more. I immediately enjoyed this role and supporting change in challenging circumstances. My experience has developed my communication and listening skills without judgement and observing with an open mind. Like many people, my interest began following a personal experience that challenged my resilience. Hypnotherapy was a positive life-affirming and healing process. I’ve seen many wonderful outcomes and positive, life-affirming and healing processes. I’ve seen many wonderful outcomes and positive changes for clients, this includes children (I hold a full DBS check). The achievements of clients inspire my commitment to the process of changing lives for the better.

Developing mindfulness involves learning the techniques of meditation, awareness of the breath and physical relaxation. Founded in 2018, the Ayrshire Women’s Hub is a community interest company that focuses on supporting women and families. We work with women and families across Ayrshire who face hardships such as social isolation and loneliness, homelessness, sexual exploitation, abuse, addictions, mental and physical health problems, long-term unemployment, poverty and more. Our mission is to promote positive change and provide solutions that make a lasting impact within the community of Ayrshire. We provide a warm, friendly, safe environment, where women and families can come to get support, socialise, make friends and help empower each other through our workshops and group activities. In the three years that we have been providing our services we have helped assist thousands of vulnerable women and their families. Our highly trained team of support workers, community engagement officers and training and prevention coordinators bring a wealth of knowledge from various areas of health and social care and community learning and development. We deliver a holistic approach and work collaboratively with other services and organisations throughout Ayrshire to help achieve positive outcomes for our service users.
