Inner Dimension TV

inner dimension tv

Founded by husband and wife co-CEOs and world-renowned yoga instructors Travis Eliot and Lauren Eckstrom from their cozy living room in west Los Angeles, Inner Dimension was started with the goal to help you achieve your highest potential in body, energy, mind, heart, wisdom and soul. Not only will you find the best yoga and meditation content here, but we also hope you get to know all of our instructors intimately and find a sense of belonging and community. Let us be “your” yoga studio…all from the comfort of home! In my early twenties I felt trapped fulfilling the expectations of my culture and family. I was stalled in a comfortable yet loveless relationship that was dispassionate and wonted. I felt lost, confused, and alone. Most painfully, I was caught in a corporate job that while financially beneficial, sucked the life out of my soul. I was unable to perceive a way out, depressed because I couldn’t decipher what steps to take next to change my life, and at a total loss as to how to regain happiness. I was caught in unhealthy habits, addictions, and fears. It was a silent suffering, like slowly suffocating from carbon monoxide poisoning. Then I became crippled with anxiety. My heart would race, I would break out in a cold sweat, my vision would narrow, and I would edge nearer and nearer toward fainting or vomiting. The experience was visceral and terrifying. And, it brought me to yoga. I remember very little about my first yoga class except that it was the first time I sat face-to-face with my pain, and I survived! Laying down for Savasana, the final resting posture, I surrendered into the floor. Layers of stress, fear, and panic melted away. For the first time, in a long time, I felt at peace in my body and in my mind. I don’t remember when I went back to yoga again, but I know I did. I left class knowing I had just met my biggest challenge and my greatest gift. Yoga would eventually teach me that I could experience the depth of my pain, and not only survive but thrive. Meditation would eventually teach me that I could feel my feelings and not run away. Yoga and meditation shifted the entire course of my life. Today I live a life that many people dream of. I travel the world, do what I love, help others, and am married to a man I love and who loves me in return. I would not be here without the roadmap the practices of yoga, meditation, and personal growth provide and I promise they will help you achieve your unique vision of a life you are head over heels in love with too. I am honored to share these practices with you and I cannot wait to welcome you to our Inner Dimension family, a global community that is here to support you on your journey to a life you love.

Allison Maxwell

allison maxwell

London

Allison Maxwell was first introduced to the great benefits of yoga 26 years ago while studying at university. She was pretty hyperactive, had frequent headaches and difficulty sleeping. A friend suggested she should try yoga, so they both joined the local College of Further Education class in Oxford. After just one course Allison was hooked and made it her priority to get to her weekly yoga class. Since then Allison has tried just about every type of yoga on offer and since qualifying as a teacher some 15 years ago has developed her own style that reflects her personality. Picture Picture Qualifications Allison's teaching qualification is from the British Wheel of Yoga (BWYDip) where she holds a diploma, which she completed in 2000. The British Wheel of Yoga is the UK’s largest yoga community and is renowned for it’s 500 hour yoga teacher training courses that are also accredited with the Yoga Alliance and take approximately two years to complete. Following this she trained to teach yoga to mother and babies and obtained a certificate from Cambridge Active Birth in 2002. She then went on to train to teach yoga to children studying with the Calm for Kids institute and completed this in 2005. As a qualified BWY yoga teacher Allison maintains a current First Aid certificate, is fully insured and attends regular CPD training days. The Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs Teacher Training course (YHLB-R), is accredited as a Recognized Centre of excellence in training and standards by The British Wheel of Yoga (the national governing body for yoga for Sports England and Sports & Recreation Alliance UK) - view www.yogaforbacks.co.uk. How yoga helped me - Allison's own words " During my role as Health Clinic Manager in a busy private clinic in central London, my health started to suffer. I often worked 12-hour days, managing staff, dealing with clients and meeting press deadlines. The one aspect of my life I never gave up was my regular yoga classes and I found that yoga was an escape from my busy schedule enabling me to 'recharge my batteries' for the next week ahead. With so many of my high flying clients suffering with addictions to alcohol and anti-depressants, I was so glad I found yoga as my release from stress! Following this I decided to study for a Master's degree at Southampton University. On completion of my MSc in Public Health Nutrition I decided to treat myslef to a yoga retreat in South India. I had no idea of the impact it would have on my life and it was life changing in many ways. Firstly, I had been plagued by almost daily headaches for over fifteen years, since suffering a neck injury from a trampolining accident at school. On my return to England my headaches has disappeared. Despite spending a fortune on other therapies over the years it was yoga that got rid of them! Also I felt more in control, happier and focused for the first time in my life. The positive impact yoga had on my life inspired me to train to be a yoga teacher. The first yoga class I taught was for Lewisham Council in London, for a group of people suffering stress and anxiety. I was thrown in at the deep end and it was a memorable experience. However, I was delighted at the benefits enjoyed by many members of the group. After moving to Berkshire I then taught in a variety of venues in Marlow, Wokingham and Reading, including Reading University (staff and students), schools, nurseries and exclusive health clubs and spas. In 2008 we moved to Colwall and shortly after we arrived I set up my first yoga class in my home and now offer two classes a week and one-to-one sessions. I also teach at three further classes in Malvern and run regular retreats at The Clover Mill Spa."

Learn the Art and Science of EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques or “The Tapping Technique”) in this EFT workshop and join millions worldwide who are learning this life-changing technique. EFT, commonly referred to as Tapping, has gained rapid popularity because it has been demonstrated to quickly and effectively resolve dysfunctional feelings, thoughts, behaviors and beliefs which can lead to challenges in relationships, health, work and more. Basically, if there are negative emotions and stress involved, EFT may well be able to resolve those aspects that can lead to significant relief and ease in one’s life. Learn to implement this powerful mind-body approach which is supported by peer-reviewed research, drawing from the fields of interpersonal neurobiology, neuroplasticity models and the field of epigenetics. If you are ready to transform your health, your relationships and your vision of who you truly are, then come join us to learn EFT Tapping techniques. If your life is grounded in being of service to others, then EFT will quickly become your tool of choice. Whether you are curious about EFT for self-help or you are in the healing/helping professions, this training will give you confidence in the art of its delivery. From the professional working with clients to the laymen looking for self-application, everyone walks away having the skills to succeed with this extraordinary healing modality. This online format did not at all hinder the delivery of the content and technique whatsoever and we were able to do everything that we could have done in person. Alina and Craig created a very safe space, gave us plenty of demos, lots of practice time and welcomed all of our questions. They also broke up the day with ample breaks and Eden energy exercises to help avoid screen fatigue. Alina and Craig are experts in their field and top-notch EFT instructors. I highly recommend their online courses.— CARSON HILL EFT LEVEL 1 The Basics The preparation for the EFT Level 1 includes approximately 3 hours of advance work, including watching several short online videos and the reading of 2 articles that explore both the history of EFT and the scientific premises for how EFT works. Note that last minute signups will not be allowed without contacting us due to this requirement. EFT Level 1, The Basics, is the foundation of any EFT training. It covers the core aspects of EFT with a focus on how you can use tapping as a self help tool and how to teach your clients how to apply it as a self-regulating technique. Learn how to apply EFT for issues related to physical symptoms, for cravings and addictions and more. See below for an outline of materials covered. An outline of subject matter covered in this first day include: The Science Behind EFT Understanding Shifting Aspects The Importance of Being Specific Psychological Reversal & Secondary Gain Cognitive Belief Shifts How Traumatic Events Imprint on the Brain Finding the Right Words to Use An introduction to both Tell the Story and the Movie Techniques for working with traumatic events The Movie Technique Working with Pain and Physical Symptoms EFT for Cravings and Aspects of Addictions Participants who take this program will be issued a Certificate of Attendance that they have completed EFT Level 1. This is the first step along the path to obtain Certified EFT Practitioner through EFT International, but should not be put forth as a certification in itself. I wholeheartedly recommend training in EFT with Craig and Alina. I recently took their EFT level 1 and 2 live online training and it was a fantastic experience. The virtual environment in Zoom was great and everything worked perfectly, and I learned so many things. I appreciate the way they break down important concepts and share their many years of experience, and the emphasis they put on generating and maintaining safety and rapport with the client at all times.— BRUNO SADE, PSYCHOLOGIST EFT LEVEL 2 Foundational Skills The two-day EFT Level 2 workshop is designed for those practitioners who have taken the pre-requisite EFT Level 1 and are either in practice or preparing to be and will be able to apply EFT when working with clients. This may include but not be limited to social workers, counselors, therapists, health care practitioners, life coaches and those who may be wishing to pursue EFT certification. It reviews and expands upon the basic aspects of the Art and Science of EFT taught in the EFT 1 course. Additional techniques are taught to expand your repertoire and offer skillful and effective ways of working with different client populations and expanding your ability to work with deeper issues. Of course, as in all EFT Tapping Training workshops, new material is presented using a variety of learning styles including partnered teaching methods, demonstrations, paired and small group experiential applications, video examples and more to ensure that no one walks away without fully understanding everything that is taught. Most importantly, this EFT Level 2 workshop will hone your practice skills. Greater attention and time will be spent on personal observation to assist you in mastering the techniques learned. Enhanced instruction on asking key questions for uncovering core issues will be provided. The following subject matter will be taught in Level 2 with an emphasis on personal practice of techniques learned with direct observation and support from the trainers: The Gentle Techniques for Intense Issues including Sneaking Up on the problem, Tearless Trauma and the somato-emotional process of Chasing the Pain (Sensation) Understanding the Nature of and working with Traumatic Events Clearing Limiting Beliefs Questions for Uncovering Core Issues Core Issues and Physical Symptoms Working over the Telephone or Internet EFT in Groups Using EFT with Children Scope of Practice, Informed Consent and the EFT Ethics Code Participants who take this program will be issued a Certificate of Attendance that they have completed EFT Level 2. When The Party's Over: substance use, addictions and workplace support

By Mindmaps Wellbeing

When The Party's Over: Substance use, addictions and workplace support  We use substances for all sorts of reasons—to manage stress or illness, to sleep, to unwind, to have fun, to cope. It may not always be healthy, but it often makes sense. “Substance use” spans a wide spectrum of meaning and social acceptability—and that context shapes how we judge others, and ourselves.  The word “drugs” often conjures up extremes, but the reality spans everything from your morning coffee and after work drinks, to your vape break, to prescription medications, to substances that are illegal to buy, or taboo to use. What society chooses to label as acceptable—or not—sometimes has less to do with harm, and more to do with social and cultural norms and values.  As we explore in this workshop, feelings of judgement and shame frequently perpetuate the cycle of substance addiction; so how can we successfully modify our behaviour if we can’t talk about it, or ask for help and support, especially at work?  This workshop is not a lesson about the dangers or symptoms of drug misuse, It is an engaging, thought-provoking exploration designed to increase understanding and compassion.  Workshop outline:  Reframing the drug landscape – breaking down the stigma  Challenging the misconceptions about substance use and addiction  Exploring useful strategies to support progress and prevent relapse  How to better recognise the signs of difficulty and hold empathetic conversations  Navigate self-help, peer, and professional support options for the workplace  FIND OUT MORE HERE Build your own training package At Mindmaps Wellbeing, we know that every business is unique, and no team is the same. Trauma: Patterns of the past

By Human Givens College

Essential trauma awareness training on the causes, symptoms and best ways to treat PTSD Join our expert tutor live online to deepen your understanding of trauma and our responses to it – recovery is possible… Accredited CPD Certificate: 6 hours Length: 1 day (9.15am - 4.00pm GMT) Excellent online trauma course! I've worked with complex trauma for over 5 years and there was still plenty for me to take away...KAT MARLOW, PSYCHOTHERAPIST Why do some people become traumatised and others not? What makes an event traumatic? Why are the symptoms of trauma so many and varied? What happens if someone freezes – or experiences a shutdown or dissociative response – during a traumatic event? Live Online Training – Join Ros Townsend on Tues 16th April 2024 to find out the answers to these questions, and many more… You’ll also have time to ask your own questions and benefit from the group discussions. Once you’ve booked you’ll receive emailed confirmation – you’ll get your Zoom link the day before the event. Limited numbers – book soon to ensure your place. BONUS RECORDING – the training is recorded, in case anyone experiences technical difficulties on the day, so you will also get a recording for a limited time afterwards to maximise your learning. This inspiring and helpful online course with Ros Townsend, a highly experienced psychotherapist and trainer who specialises in treating trauma, will give you a thorough, clear understanding of how and why we can be impacted by traumatic events, what is happening in our brains, what causes post-traumatic stress (PTS) symptoms, why we respond in different ways (fight, flight, freeze or shutdown/dissociation), how to help someone who is suffering, when to seek professional help – and more. Why take this course Suffering from trauma, whether from a single incident or multiple events spread over the course of many years, can have a significantly detrimental impact on a person’s mental and physical health, and their quality of life. It can also greatly affect the lives of those around them. Since the Covid-19 Pandemic, more people than usual have experienced extremely stressful, distressing and/or frightening events, and many are finding that it has left them with symptoms of post-traumatic stress which can, in themselves, be very frightening. Recovery is possible – understanding is key Understanding what causes PTSD symptoms, how our brains and bodies react to distressing events and what makes us vulnerable to becoming traumatised, are all key to successful recovery. This knowledge creates a firm foundation on which to build successful coping strategies and clarifies what needs to happen to enable successful self-help and recovery. During the day you will also gain a clear understanding of how to spot the ‘early warning signs’ of trauma, before they go on to affect further areas of someone’s life, which red-flag signs indicate that it is time to seek professional help, and how trauma specialists are able to help people recover, from even the most difficult times, effectively – and lots more. Jam-packed full of essential information and important insights, real-life case studies and tips, this trauma course clarifies the different ways trauma can impact on people, leaving you better equipped to help support recovery and build resilience. It is an essential course for anyone who works with distressed people or who wishes to support someone they care for in their recovery from trauma, or for those simply wishing to better understand what they, or someone they care for, are experiencing. You will have plenty of time to ask questions throughout the day as the course is designed as a balance between structured learning, group discussion and activities (it is a live, expanded version of our shorter online course: Understanding Trauma). Ros is a brilliant teacher and presenter. She made the whole course interesting, engaging and informative as well as very supportive. She was also very patient with all our questions!GEMMA ROGERS, COUNSELLOR/COACH What you will learn A clear understanding of what trauma is – and the different survival responses we have evolved to help us deal with it What happens in our brains when we experience a traumatic event Why some people are affected by traumatic events, but not others What makes something ‘a trauma’ What symptoms may indicate that someone has been traumatised Why post-traumatic stress (PTS) occurs and the many different ways it can present The physical and psychological causes of post traumatic stress symptoms such as flash backs, hypervigilance, anger, poor sleep, poor memory, physical pain, difficulty thinking, digestive problems, low mood, apparent over-reaction to non-threatening situations Why PTS symptoms can develop years after a traumatic event The fight, flight and freeze response – its impact on our brain and body, and why it can be triggered inappropriately Why experiencing trauma in a passive survival state – such as freeze, shutdown or a dissociative state – can affect an individual particularly deeply How high emotional arousal impacts on our ability to think clearly Why our brains evolved this way Why some people experience trauma in a passive survival state such as freeze, shutdown or a dissociative state – and why we shouldn’t feel ashamed or guilty if we do The double whammy that comes with the ‘freeze’ response Why some sufferers experience ‘shutdown’ or dissociation as a result of trauma – and how this can lead to feelings of shame or guilt Why anger and other strong emotions can follow when someone comes out of a shutdown state during recovery from trauma How traumatic memories can stay ‘live’, keeping us on constant alert for danger ‘The straw that broke the camel’s back’: why one seemingly small event can tip someone into PTSD after years of exposure to other distressing events The importance of pattern-matching in understanding how our brains work Why post-traumatic stress triggers seemingly inappropriately extreme fear reactions The far-reaching impacts of unresolved trauma, including the development of co-morbid conditions and unhelpful coping strategies, such as addictions How unresolved trauma can lead to depression – the trauma / depression cycle Differences when treating single incident trauma, multiple trauma or ‘complex trauma’ When to seek professional help – spotting the ‘red-flag’ signs that you, or someone you care for, might need further support Where to find effective professional help An understanding of how the rewind technique works; its many advantages and applications The common elements of all effective treatments for post traumatic stress (PTSD) How we need to adapt traditional approaches to treating trauma for those experiencing shutdown or dissociative symptoms in the present Working holistically from the human givens approach The natural way we recover from distressing events What we all need as human beings to live emotionally healthy lives How to best employ self-help strategies to support your own recovery or to help others’ suffering from the effects of trauma How to build resilience and recover from symptoms How to access the ‘recovery zone’ Using breathing techniques with clients suffering from trauma Self-help strategies for improving your mental health and minimising traumatic symptoms A wonderfully informative course – I learned so much about traumaCOUNSELLOR Please note This live online training course is an expanded, live version of our shorter online course: Understanding Trauma. If you work with people with Complex Trauma, you may also like our attended workshops: Complex Trauma: Working effectively with challenging cases. Who this workshop is suitable for Anyone interested in understanding trauma and the many different ways it can present, the physical and psychological causes of post traumatic stress symptoms (PTSD), and what can be done to help – whether for personal or professional reasons. Please note As the course deals with the subject of trauma, participants should be aware that discussion of specifically chosen examples of trauma and PTS symptoms will take place, for illustrative purposes, during the day. These will be generic examples for teaching purposes, however, and will not go into unnecessary detail or be voyeuristic or inherently distressing. Participants on the course will not at any stage be expected or put under pressure to discuss or disclose details of any personal experiences of a traumatic nature that they may have had.
