As a young family man, stuck in the rat race, I was earning a decent salary but still found myself in debt. I decided to change things around. I dabbled in online blogging, multi-level marketing, online gambling and buying and selling cars. I did well, but it was not something I enjoyed doing all of the time. My time was owned, and I wanted to own my time. Planning for my future was so important to me. I found trading at 24 when a friend introduced hyper scalping to me. We used indicators to trade the 1-minute timeframe and, on average, would catch 3-10 pips at a time. The adrenaline rush was unexplainable. But, it eventually led to blown accounts due to greed. I then moved onto trading binary options. And as always. I was doing very well on the demo account. The second I went live I became complement, my patience wore off and I was just chasing the dream of getting rich quick. I then decided to trade Forex. I was excited by the opportunity it presented. Work from home or anywhere in the world. To be able to own my time, provide for my family, do the things I loved and plan my retirement. Why? The initial investment was small, and the opportunity was limitless. I had no plan or strategy to work with. But after three years of trying everything which included everything from not following a plan to being greedy and chasing money, I decided to take things seriously. It wasn't long before I had my penny dropping moment and realised that trading is more than just chasing the dream, but rather a serious business for serious people, things started to get better for me. Within a few months of me applying myself, I decided to quit my job and become a fulltime trader. My goal is to take the journey I have gone through and impart it onto others who have faced a similar situation as me and cut down your years of learning and making mistakes to a simple yet powerful approach so you can have an opportunity to live the life you have always wanted. Urban Botanical is a Botanical Design Service based in Dundee. Our bespoke service offers beautiful, romantic, naturally styled botanicals for your wedding or event. I established in 2016 Urban Botanical, my intention was to approach floristry from a fresh perspective, one not bound by rules or code. My background is in Fine Art having graduated with a BA Hons in Fine Art from Duncan of Jordanstone then continuing on to gain a Master’s degree in Art History from St Andrews University. After University I worked as a freelance Arts Educator running workshops in DCA and McManus Galleries for a few years prior to working in floristry. By 2015 I was working in a local florist, my second florist job but my urge to push the forbidden boundaries and explore the ‘frowned’ upon often caused disagreement. My background in Fine Art influences my approach to floristry, often problem-solving in a different manner from the ‘old fashioned’ or ‘traditional methods’ of floristry. The floristry that excited me was different, it was modern..… arty.. I decided then I had to find my own group of like-minded artist type florists. Through ‘The Glasgow Flower School’ I came to meet Jay Archer – Multi-award-winning florist Jay is known for championing British-grown, sustainable and seasonal flowers, and is widely respected within the wedding and floral industry. Jay talked about largely being self-taught, her work was beautiful, I was in love.. I finally found the definition of ‘floristry’ that I fitted into. My confidence started to grow and I started to really believe in myself but also I realised that just like Art, Floristry is subjective and not everyone will like what I like. During my final year at Art School, we learned the basics of being a ‘self-employed’ artist, learning things like how to quote and price a particular job based on materials, design, and execution which has obviously helped me a lot, also things like Brand Identity, bookkeeping, and accounts. Brand identity or brand ethos for me is something of a journey, constantly defining the things that are important to me, for what I want Urban Botanical to look like, what it represents. Whilst Urban Botanical is my career it is also my lifestyle. Country forage walks with my children is just normal for us, as is collecting ‘pretty weeds’ and wildflowers. Throughout the spring and summer, my ethos is to mainly use locally grown flowers, greenery, and herbs some of which produce the most delicate flowers as well as scent which is an important factor in my bridal work. Scent can evoke memories which is where my love for flowers started as a little girl picking flowers in my parent’s garden, making perfume, and potions. Do I like my job? YES – I love my job, working with nature, and the seasons is something I never realised I would love so much.

We are a friendly and approachable DMT and Trampoline club based at Cambourne Fitness and Sports Centre, Cambridgeshire, who welcome bouncers of all ages and abilities from beginners through to National Competitors. We are registered with British Gymnastics through whom all our coaches and committee are trained and are dedicated to providing positive trampolining opportunities for all within Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas. How do we operate: Cambourne Comets is run by a committee of volunteers and we employ a number of coaches up to level 3. We believe in communication and accountability and are fully committed to the welfare of the children bouncing with us. Safeguarding: We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. To ensure the welfare and safety of our members the Club has adopted in full the British Gymnastics 'Health, Safety and Welfare' policy, Safeguarding and Protecting Children Policy and their 'Child protection Policy' We have appointed welfare officers who are fully involved in the running of the club and with whom issues can be raised. What days do we train? Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. We also offer Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) sessions on Thursdays at 5.30 pm and 6.30pm. How much does it cost? Sessions cost £5.50 and run for an hour. You will be invoiced at the beginning of each term. We are happy to allow the payments to be spread over the term but ask all accounts are cleared before the last week of the term. We will assume membership is continuing unless we are emailed to confirm cancellation. Payment is done by bank transfer of which details will be sent with invoice. How are the sessions run? Sessions have either 2 or 3 classes running at the same time and bouncers are allocated a coach to suit their skills and needs. We provide one-to-one coaching to ensure we meet the individual needs of the member. Bouncers will take part in a five minute floor warm up at the start of the session, followed by a warm up on the trampoline bed and then they are all set to train. What should you wear? Suitable sports clothing without buttons, zips, toggles, hoods etc that may get caught on the bed Trampoline shoes or socks are a must. Jewellery, watches, badges and anything else that may catch must be removed. Long hair must be tied back. Club Membership: Regular bouncers will be expected to become members of Cambourne Comets Trampoline Club and British Gymnastics (BG). Fees are payable monthly thereafter preferably by standing order. Recreational club membership costs £45 and includes affliation to Eastern Counties Gymnastic Association (ECGA). Taster sessions: We offer a taster session so that you can "try before you buy" where you can come along and meet the coaches and train with other members. There is no charge for the trial session if you decide not to join the club. Holiday sessions: Holiday sessions are handled on a pay as you go basis and must be booked and paid for in advance.
