An online, on-demand course which enables you to build on your anatomical knowledge and sonography skills in your own time. In six sessions, the course covers an introduction to ultrasound, scanning the emergency patient, and a full abdominal scan. By the end you will be confident to pick up the (correct!) probe and start your ultrasound journey.
Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with some experience of basic abdominal scanning. Maybe you have done an ultrasound course before, but are a bit rusty on the functions and want to improve and revise your practical skills.
Includes subscription to IVALA 3D anatomy tool for the duration of the course.
You will have access to the course material for 16 weeks from registration.

Why this course is so valuable:
3D anatomy: A subscription to an online 3D anatomy tool is included for the duration of the course. Enjoy refreshing your anatomy and make learning sonography so much easier!
Image optimisation: An essential component of sonography, but one that is often not included in courses. A huge barrier to learning sonography is getting to grips with the buttons on your machine. We give you the tools to overcome this and become confident to optimise your images.
Ultrasound demonstration: A video demonstration of how to scan each organ thoroughly will be delivered. Take your time to practice and follow along whilst you build confidence - the benefits to an on demand format.
Pathology using cases: Although this course focuses on how to perform an abdominal ultrasound scan and normal sonographic appearance of the abdominal organs, a couple of clinical cases will be included each week for comparison.
Support and interaction: The speaker will be available to answer questions using discussion boards during the duration of the course.
Course duration
The course starts immediately after purchase and you have 16 weeks to access the material and complete the course. You will be allocated 20 CPD points on completion.
