International Masterclass in Paediatric 24-hour Postural Care This intensive course combines the best of on demand, online training with the opportunity for practical hands on learning. Two days online independent learning will prepare you for three days in-person training. We host our course in the heart of English countryside in the beautiful city of Lichfield, a thirty minute car journey from Birmingham International Airport.During the course you will develop your understanding of sitting and the often forgotten lying posture. Comprehensive understanding of anatomy and biomechanics related to seating and lying.
Practical coaching in the hands on assessment for sitting and lying
Clinical reasoning in relation to equipment selection for sitting and lying

Solution focussed, co-productive and personalised 24-hour postural care provision doesn't just happen. We know that growing bodies require protection and that families are often stretched and can seem difficult to reach. Join internationally recognised thought leaders Dr Jenn Mckee and Sarah Clayton to explore the intricacies of postural care service development, the biomechanical theories that underpin effective intervention and learn the practical, hands-on assessment techniques needed to ensure that the children and young people you support have the best possible outcomes. Rachel Wright will support you to develop your communication and co-production skills in order to work alongside families facing complex and often daunting circumstances. Finally, Suzanne Carter will share her extensive two decades long experience of developing a comprehensive paediatric postural care service and the phenomenal impact this has had on the bodies and lives of the children she and her team support. Costs include access to the online training platform with 2 days independent e-learning material, 3 days in-person training at St John’s House Lichfield (including lunch and refreshments on these days), CPD certification, training resource pack and an optional 1 day visit to PAMIS, Scotland.Not included: transportation, accommodation, breakfast and evening meals. There are a limited number of rooms available at St Johns House a rate of £130 per night on a first come first served basis. Our blended courses combine independent online learning with live training. In this instance, online learning will be available prior to the in-person sessions. The expectation is that this learning will be completed before 4th June to enable you to fully participate in the live hands-on training.
