• Do I need any previous experience to enrol?

  No. SkinSmart™ Level 1 is designed for complete beginners as well as beauty professionals who are new to spray tanning. No prior spray tan training is required.

• Is this course suitable if I want to work professionally?

  Yes. This course is designed to provide the correct foundations required for safe, professional spray tanning and commercial practice.

• Is SkinSmart™ different from brand training days?

  Yes. SkinSmart™ is an education-led programme focused on technique, skin understanding, consultation, and professional standards — not a short brand demonstration.

• Is this course accredited?

  UK students: Yes. UK-based practical training is fully accredited and suitable for professional insurance.

  International students: Online certification is delivered as professional education and CPD-level training. Formal accreditation currently applies to UK-based practical training only.

• Can international students enrol?

  Yes. SkinSmart™ Level 1 is available internationally via online theory, guided practical application, and case study assessment.

• Will this allow me to get insurance outside the UK?

  Insurance requirements vary by country. International students should check with local insurance providers before enrolling. We can provide certification documentation where required.

• How long does the course take to complete?

  Most students complete the course within 4–8 weeks, depending on how quickly case studies are completed. Online modules can be accessed immediately.

• Is there any live interaction?

  Yes. Students have access to live or recorded online clinics and structured educator support as part of the learning experience.

• What happens if I need help during the course?

  Support is provided through structured student support channels. Complex technical or clinical questions may be escalated to a senior educator where required.

• Do I need to attend a practical day?

  UK students: Yes. Practical training is delivered in person.

  International students: Practical application is completed independently with guidance and assessed through case studies.

• What are the case studies?

  Students must submit 6 client case studies, including:

  • Consultation and skin assessment

  • Solution choice and reasoning

  • Application reflection

  • Outcome evaluation and aftercare

• What happens if I fail a case study?

  If a case study does not meet the required standard, feedback will be provided and resubmission may be requested.

• Do I need to buy specific equipment to complete the course?

  No specific brand is required. Training is delivered using iTan® professional equipment, but principles taught can be applied across professional spray tan systems.

• Will I be sold products during the course?

  Product and equipment guidance is provided for educational purposes only. There is no obligation to purchase.

• What certificate will I receive?

  Upon successful completion:

  • UK students: Receive a UK-accredited SkinSmart™ Level 1 Certificate

  • International students: Receive SkinSmart™ Professional Certification (CPD-level education)

• Can I progress to further SkinSmart™ courses?

  Yes. Successful completion of Level 1 allows progression to:

  • SkinSmart™ Level 2 – Skin Science & Consultation

  • Advanced Level 3 specialisms

• Is there an expiry date on the certification?

  No expiry date applies. Ongoing professional development is recommended.
