Manual Handling injuries are one of the most common types of work-related accidents in the UK. This course is designed to increase employee awareness of Manual Handling risks and provide practical advice on how to keep safe at work.
In this short course, learners will review recommended lifting techniques and identify ways to minimise manual handling through the use of lifting aids and team lifts. This Manual Handling Awareness course also includes a basic understanding of the anatomy of the spine, sprains and strains, to provide an appreciation of the importance of following guidance and training.
This course is CPD Accredited and Assured by RoSPA Qualifications. The content is also aligned to the UK Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF).

Employers are legally obliged to provide safety training to all employees. This course provides a solution that is suitable for a wide range of sectors including retail and commerce, hospitality, education, finance and professional services, hotels and tourism, manufacturing and more.
Those working in a higher-risk role or industries such as construction may require supplementary role or industry specific health and safety training. Those completing this course from the care sector should receive practical training on any equipment (e.g. hoists) in addition to this theory training.

Assessments:
This course contains a multiple choice quiz which is completed online and graded immediately with a passing score of 75%.
The quiz can be re-attempted in the event of a failure and tutor support can be provided upon request.
Validity:
The certificate does not state an expiry date, although it is recommended that refresher training is completed every 3 years.
Some employers may require annual refresher training or other periods as determined by risk assessment.
