This qualification is intended for those who lead a team of IQA’s and maintain the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.
Learners undertaking this qualification will be able to understand the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment and internally assure the quality of assessment. They will be able to plan and prepare activities to monitor the quality assurance team and allocate work as required.
Learners will achieve 17 credits across 3 units:

Internally assure the quality of assessment
Plan, allocate and monitor work in own area of responsibility
DurationTypically, distance learning students complete this course within 3-6 months although students are able to take up to 12 months to complete the qualification. Extension options are available if required.
Delivery Methods
Distance Learning – but don’t worry, you’ll be allocated a dedicated Tutor who will support you fully throughout the duration of your course.
Assessments
Unit 1 is assessed through a written assignment. Unit 2 is assessed by carrying out quality assurance activities for at least two assessors, each with at least two learners. Unit 3 is a combination of written work and practical activities. One of your activities will be observed and there will also be a professional discussion with a qualified IQA. You will also be required to submit a CPD record and reflective journal.
Pre-requisites
Learners must be aged 19+ years to be enrolled onto this course. If enrolling to this course as an individual, you must be working or have access to a training or teaching environment as you are required to carry out quality assurance in a live environment as part of the qualification.
Please note: course materials are provided in English and assignments must be completed in English.
Who should do this course:
This course will qualify the candidate to act as a Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA). These roles exist in further education colleges, independent training providers and apprenticeship providers.
It will also be a useful qualification for those responsible for leading a team of IQA’s, or managing the quality of training and/or assessment within workplace training.
Certificate
A certificate is provided upon successful completion, following internal and external quality assurance.
