A Celebration of Kurdish Culture in Edinburgh and Scotland
Experience the vibrant and rich traditions of Kurdish music and dance in an afternoon filled with joy, connection, and cultural discovery.
This unique event will feature live performances by a local Kurdish music group, comprised of talented musicians Haroun, Amir, and Whitedeer, playing traditional Kurdish instruments such as the oud, saz, and daf.
The music will set the rhythm for lively Kurdish circle dances, a cornerstone of Kurdish celebrations. These dances are simple to learn, and experienced members of the Kurdish community will be on hand to teach anyone who wants to join in. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or a complete beginner, this is a wonderful opportunity to move, connect, and immerse yourself in Kurdish culture. No obligation to dance.
This workshop is not just about music and dance—it’s a celebration of the Kurdish spirit and heritage, shared in the heart of Scotland.
The event is entirely free and open to all, ensuring that everyone has the chance to participate in this vibrant cultural exchange.
Come along, bring your energy and curiosity, and join us in celebrating the beauty and warmth of Kurdish traditions. Whether you come to listen, learn, or dance, you’re guaranteed an unforgettable time of culture and community.
