Join us for the first of our in-person sessions hosted by Cedar Mount Academy, M18 7DT. This session on Electromagnetism is led by Graham Perrin, Physics Partners Coach.

This session covers magnetic fields, electromagnetism, and solenoid behaviour using the "right-hand grip" rule. It details practical applications like motors, electromagnetic induction, generators, and AC/DC differences. Finally, it introduces the transformer equation and how step-up and step-down transformers minimize energy losses in the National Grid.

This session is fully-funded and delivered by Physics Partners. This session is part of the Manchester South Physics Hub series of twilight sessions for physics teachers, particularly non-specialists and early career teachers. Technicians are also welcome to attend.
