Dr Jessica Collins is a Clinical Psychologist and Epione Trauma Trainer. She has extensive experience in NHS services supporting adults, children, and families to heal following trauma, and currently works clinically in a neonatal unit, supporting families through the neonatal journey. Jess is BABCP-accredited in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and integrates a range of psychological approaches, including third-wave and attachment-focused models, to provide person-centred interventions for those recovering from trauma. She also works as a Clinical Lecturer and Academic at Northumbria University, leading research projects focused on developing evidence-based practice to support childrenâs mental health.
Jess has a strong passion for sharing psychological knowledge and skills through training and supervision, recognising that upskilling communities in psychological theory, practice, and trauma-informed principles is vital for supporting recovery. She has delivered training to a wide range of audiences, including mental health practitioners, social care workers, adoptive families, and the police service.
Jess developed a particular interest in the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) model during her clinical training, recognising its value for individuals living with emotional, mental, and physical health challenges. She also applies ACT principles in her own life to support her wellbeing and foster a more balanced relationship with her thoughts and emotions. Through this training course, Jess is excited to share her knowledge, skills, and passion for ACT, equipping delegates with practical, evidence-based strategies to enhance both their own and their clientsâ wellbeing.
