Afternoon Cuppa Session - Running a careers themed Takeover Day     Tuesday 21 May, 2-3.30pm   Join us for an informal virtual briefing and discussion session to inspire your own careers themed Takeover Day.  Kids in Museums Takeover Day is when museums, galleries, historic homes, archives and heritage sites invite young people to take over jobs normally done by adults for the day. This year Takeover Day is on Friday 22 November. The theme for Takeover Day in 2024 is careers. We are bringing Takeover Day back to its roots and highlighting how it can support young people of all ages to learn about different jobs in museums and develop their skills, both in the sector and beyond. The date also coincides with Discover Creative Careers Week [https://discovercreative.careers/about/discover-creative-careers-week-2024/#:~:text=Creative%20Careers%20Week%20will%20take,in%20our%2077%20priority%20areas.] In this session, we will: * provide a range of ideas to inspire your own careers themed Takeover Day involving local children and young people  * hear a case study from Dover Museum about their careers themed Takeover Day in November 2023 * create opportunities for attendees to informally share their ideas and other projects they have undertaken around careers. Please bring along your own cuppa and snacks! Take a look at the full schedule.
