Our Two Week Intensive Acting Workshop runs each month and is designed to introduce students to the basic principles and activities involved in an Actor Training.

The Energy Efficiency (Part L) course empowers gas and oil-fired domestic heating and hot water system designers to comply with Part L of the Building Regulations. Who should attend? * Heating engineers * Design engineers *  Building services industry operatives *  Anyone looking to self-certify heating installations through Competent Persons Schemes (CPS) Course Objective: *  Develop the knowledge and skills to design heating systems that meet the energy efficiency standards outlined in Part L of the Building Regulations. Prerequisites (one required): * ACS qualification * OFTEC qualification * Level 2 or 3 N/SVQ in plumbing (or equivalent) * Level 2 or 3 N/SVQ in heating and ventilation (or equivalent) * Level 2 or 3 N/SVQ in gas installation/maintenance (or equivalent) * Level 2 or 3 N/SVQ in oil-fired technical services (or equivalent) * Previous energy efficiency certificate What you'll gain: *  Understand the key requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations for domestic heating systems. *  Learn to design heating systems that achieve optimal energy efficiency. *  Master the skills needed to self-certify installations through CPS schemes. Learners will develop knowledge from the FD&FA foundation courses (C01 modules 1 and 2) and/or industry experience with specific regard to more complex system design considerations.

An excellent choice if you’re looking to make a bag, pattern cutting, discuss your ideas or bag designs, or to engage in consultancy for your business. What to expect No matter your leather crafting dreams or goals, 1-2-1 tuition has you covered. Time: Sessions run from 10am - 4pm. There will be a light lunch served at midday and tea/ coffee breaks throughout. Location: Sessions can be run online or from the Workshop of Hands Of Tym in Banbury, Oxfordshire, OX16 9DH. Parking: Parking is available on the drive with easy access via the M40. Transport: Banbury train station is a 30 min walk. Trains run from both London Marylebone and Birmingham to Banbury in 50 minutes. We’re also well connected to Reading, Oxford, and Leamington Spa. WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE? Following a varied career in Accessories design and development across many roles and international brands I set up Hands of Tym in 2016. The courses I offer are suitable for all, from experienced to total novice. Come along to learn something new, and design and make your own leather bag in a day.

Danish cord weaving course. Danish cord weaving is a great skill to master. The classic look comes from the Danish furniture designer Hans Wegner, the style of weaving cord has a cool mid century look, and has had a massive rebound in modern day furniture and interior design. What makes Danish cord weaving unique is the fact its NOT a manufactured machining process. All weaving is by hand by a person, this alone makes these much desired pieces of furniture, stand out in this massive production based world. Truly a unique handmade, bespoke design, with great mass appeal. The course is 2 days, you will be provided with the base bench frame premade in Solid oak. During the first day we will finish the stool, we will show types of wood finishing i.e oil, lacquer etc.. and prepare for the weaving process. We will talk in length and demonstrate Danish cord weaving, and a overview of the making of the stool frame. During day two you will spend the day weaving your stool to completion, by the end of the day you will have a beautiful stool to take home and admire your new found skill. The skills taught on the HEAT course are taken to the next level by training delegates how to deal with more complex levels of medical conditions and trauma first aid training coupled with practical training in the use of advanced medical equipment and techniques. In line with all of our benchmark courses HEFAT ensures that travellers from all backgrounds are prepared for the widest possible threat levels across the widest field of environments and situations. Delegates leave aware of potential risks and confident that they have the skills and knowledge to deal with immediate and developing situations. MEET YOUR TUTORS CAROLYN PICKLES Actress Carolyn Pickles is an English actress of stage and screen with a career spanning over 40 years where she has led on award-winning British Drama including Broadchurch, Vera in addition to films such as Harry Potter. Working with Carolyn will give you the opportunity to tap into her experience and help maximise your chances of securing that next acting role. SUE DUNDERDALE Director Sue Dunderdale has an impressive background in the world of Theatre, Film and TV Directing. Her commitment to fostering both new talent and working with BAFTA award-winning actors underscores her versatility and dedication to the craft. Having coached and directed acclaimed actors such as Helena Bonham Carter and Clarke Peters,  Sue has worked with BAFTA-winning performers, contributing to their success on screen. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Art of Cinematic Performance As the two tutors come together mid-week, Carolyn and Sue will allocate scenes from screenplays for you to work on and film to self-critically view in the pursuit of understanding the process as an actor. In the final two days, whilst rehearsing the scenes, Sue will focus on the life within the character that creates the tension/conflict in the scene. Discovering with you that it is important to know the lines of the scene so well that they can become the least part of the work. It is what lies beneath the lines that creates the quality of the performance and makes for interest on camera. Over the 5 Days you will learn the importance of sub-text, and how it supports the written text. Through intricate analysis and breakdowns, life experience, knowledge and exterior impacts will be explored to inject life into scenes and enable real thoughts and emotions in a character. These techniques can be applied in any role, big or small and enhance your capabilities in an actor when asked to self-tape or audition, giving you a more dynamic skillset often looked for by Casting Directors.
