Description

As the weather chills from Autumn into Winter, the Edinburgh Sketcher heads indoors for his sketchbook journalling workshop.

Join local artist, Mark Kirkham (aka the Edinburgh Sketcher), to build a diary of sketches to look back on, and learn how to capture a place with key words and phrases to remind you where you were when you drew.

By combining quick sketches of everyday items with views of a place the memory is made stronger. Mark will share his personal journals with you for inspiration, and show you how to mix drawings and words to create colourful spreads in your journal.

This mindful workshop invites you to loosen up, layer boldly, and experiment with texture, contrast, and colour.

We’ll play with fluid washes, striking lines, and rich, tactile finishes—embracing happy accidents and intuitive choices along the way.

No pressure for perfection, just a space to discover new techniques and enjoy the creative process in the relaxing surroundings of The Arienas Collective.

You'll take away a beautiful watercolour sketch book to continue practising in. And your workshop will begin with a warming mug of soup served with sourdough to keep you energised.

This is a beginner-friendly, and no previous experience is needed. It's also perfect for those wanting to turn their sketching into storytelling.

The price includes all materials, a beautiful sketchbook to take home, and a soup and sourdough lunch.
