You will explore every aspect of departmental leadership—from shaping a clear vision and defining curriculum intent, to planning for progression, embedding SEND adaptations, and enriching the learning experience.

The course also covers key elements such as assessment strategies, capturing the student voice, and developing “the full picture” of learning. These insights will ensure your department is well-prepared to present confidently to SLT, Governors, and Ofsted.

Rachel has been course developer, presenter and workshop host for the Textile Skills Centre since 2021. With nine years’ international experience as a Product Developer in the fashion industry, including work with GIII in China and major retailers such as Marks & Spencer and Moss Bros, Rachel brings a wealth of industry knowledge.

She is now Head of Design & Technology Graphics at Harrogate School, having taught , Textiles, Fashion Textiles and Product Design, and continues to build professional networks through global events and not-for-profit initiatives that support collaboration and skill sharing.
