This in-person workshop on Waves is led by Eleanor Wylie, Physics Partners Coach and hosted by the Physics department at UEA. Eleanor is an experienced coach with a particular passion for engaging all in physics and teaching to develop an understanding of the basics.
Refreshments and the opportunity to network from 4.15pm in the foyer of the New Science Building.
This workshop is open to all teachers of physics but specifically aimed at non-physics specialists, early career teachers and trainee teachers. The focus will be on KS3 and KS4 we will be looking at tried and tested ideas for teaching waves, featuring lots of practical work, effective modelling and considering the learning difficulties students have in understanding wave properties. There will be slinkies, jelly babies, Mexican waves and more as we explore this topic that underpins how we communicate with one another.

This session is fully-funded and delivered by Physics Partners. This session forms part of the Norwich Physics Hub series of twilight sessions for physics teachers, particularly non-specialists, teacher trainees and early career teachers. Technicians are also welcome to attend.
