Description

This in-person workshop on Radioactivity is led by Christina Astin, Coach for Physics Partners and hosted by School of Science and Technology Maidstone. Refreshments and the opportunity to network from 3.45pm.

Teaching Radioactivity

A tricky topic to teach but we’ll start with atomic structure then look at the properties of alpha, beta and gamma radiation before tackling nuclear equations. We’ll explore how to teach half-life, including graphs, calculations and modelling.

These sessions are for physics teachers, particularly non-specialists, early career teachers and teacher trainees. Technicians are also welcome to attend.

This CPD session is fully-funded and delivered by Physics Partners and forms part of the Maidstone Physics Hub series of twilight sessions generously supported by the Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust.
