Join us for an hour of online subject knowledge CPD: Teaching Acceleration, led by Neal Gupta, Physics Partners Coach.
Acceleration is a central concept in the KS4 Physics curriculum. This workshop will explore how resultant forces affect acceleration and provide guidance on delivering the required practical for measuring acceleration effectively. Participants will learn how to use the Working Scientifically framework—planning experiments, collecting and analysing data, and evaluating findings—specifically in the context of the acceleration practical. The session will also include strategies to support students in tackling acceleration questions, with worked examples involving multiple equations, to strengthen understanding and exam confidence.
This online session is for non-specialist physics teachers and early career teachers. Trainee teachers, technicians and teaching assistants are also welcome.
The link to join the CPD will be sent out after delegates register.
This CPD session is fully-funded and delivered by Physics Partners as part of the East Midlands Online Physics Hub programme. Sessions are run on a half termly basis.
Physics Partners is a charity that provides free support to physics teachers in state secondary schools in the UK. Their mission is to improve physics teaching and inspire students to consider studying physics at A-level.
