Renew your First Aid at Work qualification and continue to act as a qualified workplace First Aider with our First Aid at Work Requalification Level 3 (RQF or VTQ) course. This course is designed for businesses and individuals whose current First Aid at Work certificate is approaching its expiry date and who wish to maintain their qualification.

The course refreshes existing knowledge, updates learners on the latest first aid guidance and reinforces practical skills through realistic workplace scenarios, ensuring delegates remain confident and competent to respond to workplace emergencies.

We offer this course as an open course for individual bookings or, on request, can deliver the course at your workplace for group bookings.

Course Overview

The First Aid at Work (FAW) Requalification qualification is recognised by the HSE and meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This 12-hour classroom course is delivered over 2 days and ensures participants refresh their knowledge and practical skills to confidently respond to workplace emergencies.

Upon successful completion, candidates receive a certificate valid for 3 years.

Important: To attend this course, your current First Aid at Work certificate must still be valid and be due to expire within 28 days of the course start date. A copy of your current certificate must be provided before your booking can be confirmed.

If your certificate has already expired, you will be required to complete the full 3-Day First Aid at Work course.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Assess emergency situations quickly and safely.

  • Perform high-quality CPR and place casualties into the recovery position.

  • Safely use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

  • Provide first aid for choking, severe bleeding, burns, fractures and other common workplace injuries.

  • Recognise and manage medical emergencies including heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes, seizures and anaphylaxis.

  • Apply current first aid guidance and best practice in the workplace.
