The Return of the Maldon District Business Breakfast

The Maldon District Business Breakfast is back — with a fresh new format designed around what matters most: bringing local businesses together.

We’ve listened to feedback and stripped things back to create a simpler, more valuable event focused on meaningful networking, new connections, and supporting the local business community.

What’s New?

From now on, the Maldon District Business Breakfast will take place every two months, giving businesses a guaranteed regular opportunity to meet, connect and grow their network throughout the year.

Each session will run for two hours and include:

  • Free breakfast/refreshments

  • A short 30-minute talk from a visiting guest speaker

  • Plenty of dedicated networking time

  • Opportunities to meet businesses from across the district

  • A relaxed and welcoming environment

The speaker for each event will bring insight, ideas or inspiration — but the main focus remains on helping local businesses build relationships and opportunities.

🎤 Visiting Speaker: Caroline Platt - who will be talking about managing stress and building resilience in the workplace.

Session Overview: Managing Stress & Building Resilience

In this engaging and practical session, Caroline will explore how our relationship with stress shapes our wellbeing and performance — and what we can do to change it.

The session will cover:

  • Why stress itself isn’t the problem — but how we respond to it is

  • An introduction to resilience and its key pillars

  • What mindfulness is and how it supports wellbeing

  • The science behind stress, the nervous system, mindfulness and resilience

  • Practical tools and simple self-care strategies for busy professionals

Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to manage stress effectively, build resilience, and maintain wellbeing in a demanding work environment.


About the Speaker: Caroline Platt

Caroline Platt is a Mindfulness, Resilience and Wellness Coach, and a fully insured member of The Complementary Medical Association (CMA).

With over 20 years’ experience as a remedial and holistic massage therapist, Caroline brings a deep understanding of the connection between physical and mental wellbeing. Prior to this, she worked in finance in London, giving her first-hand insight into the pressures faced by busy professionals.

Her work is rooted in a long-standing interest in how chronic and prolonged stress impacts both body and mind. Drawing on emerging research into the mind-body connection — particularly the role of the nervous system and the gut-brain axis — Caroline supports individuals in understanding how stress influences mood, energy, immunity and overall health.

Motivated by this, she undertook further training in personal development and coaching, becoming an accredited Transformation Coach with The International Authority for Professional Coaching and Mentoring (IAPC&M).

Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.
