This informative, hands-on 5-day course fulfils the competencies set out in the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level D, providing the knowledge and practical skills needed to deal with a range of prehospital emergency care situations. The Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) covers; administration of emergency oxygen, management of trauma patients, major illnesses and much more.
FREC 3 is aimed at those requiring a recognised entry level qualification for event medicine and ambulance operations. FREC 3 is the minimum qualification required to join #TeamECS as a First Responder.
2025 FREC 3 Syllabus Update:
The ECS Education Centre is excited to announce that from October 2025 we will be offering the new and improved Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (FREC3) (RQF) programme which has been updated to better prepare FREC 3 providers for operational practice. As part of this, we will be offering the below 'Extended Skills’ upon request from eligible candidates:
· Use of Supraglottic Airway Devices
· Administration of Inhaled analgesia (Nitrous Oxide/ Penthrox)
· Administration of Naloxone
· Blood Glucose Measurement
Extended Skills Eligibility:
Only Learners who have clinical direction and operate within a governance framework are able to be taught and assessed using the FREC®3 Optional practical assessment (Extended skills). Learners must submit a completed FREC3 Optional Practical Assessments (Extended Skills) authorisation form at least one week prior to the course start date.

Instructions
