Fire detection in domestic properties isn’t a scaled-down version of non-domestic systems - it’s different.
BS 5839-6 has its own requirements, approaches, and design considerations, particularly around system grades, categories, and risk profiles within dwellings.
This course gives you a clear, practical understanding of how to design, install, and commission compliant systems in domestic environments.
Course description
This course provides a practical understanding of the design, installation, and commissioning of fire detection and alarm systems in domestic properties, in line with BS 5839-6 and relevant codes of practice.
A key focus is the selection and application of Grade A, C, and D systems, and how these relate to different property types and risk levels.
