Course Overview

Ethical leadership is fundamental to effective governance. Directors operate under increasing regulatory scrutiny and stakeholder expectations, where integrity, independence, and sound judgment are critical to sustaining trust and long-term value.

This programme strengthens the ethical, behavioural, and leadership competencies required at board level. It examines how personal values, corporate culture, and governance systems interact to influence decision-making and accountability. Participants explore ethical leadership principles, structured approaches to dilemma analysis, conflict-of-interest management, and the role of the board in setting the “tone from the top.”

Through practical frameworks, case studies, and reflective exercises, the programme equips directors to balance performance and purpose, embed ethics into strategy and risk oversight, and lead with transparency, responsibility, and professional integrity.

Training Objectives

By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:

  • Describe ethical leadership and its role in corporate governance effectiveness.

  • Identify ethical risks, including conflicts of interest and integrity failures.

  • Explain the relationship between ethics, compliance, culture, and reputation.

  • Apply structured frameworks to analyse complex ethical dilemmas.

  • Manage conflicts of interest and boardroom tensions appropriately.

  • Integrate ethical considerations into strategic and risk-related discussions.

  • Promote transparency, accountability, and trust within governance structures.
