Course Content:
Understand the different types of mechanical restraints (handcuffs)
Understand the law and good practice guidelines in relation to the use of mechanical restraints (handcuffs)
Understand the importance of safe working practices and how to respond to medical difficulties
Understand post-incident considerations and the importance of reporting
Be able to safely apply and remove mechanical restraints (handcuffs) to a compliant subject
Be able to safely apply and remove mechanical restraints (handcuffs) to a non-compliant subject
Entry Requirements:
Learners must be 18+ years old
Must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor or Close Protection Licence
Must be able to communicate fluently in spoken and written English
Participants must wear appropriate, comfortable clothing suitable for practical, scenario-based training

One form of valid photographic identification, such as:
Valid passport (any nationality)
UK photocard driving licence
Valid SIA licence
Warrant card issued by HM Forces or the Police
